June 18, 201213 yr Member A baby is dead...I buy it. Even Carly has the decency to put the claws out at a time like this. She knows what its like to be told your child is dead I know, but they've sort of started with this even before Sam had the baby.
June 18, 201213 yr Member Watching today, I was reminded of the final months of Another World where what it really had going for it was its cast. I particularly enjoy JE, TG, FH, and RM, the "soap royalty", if you will. And you could put Susan Lucci's head on Finola's body, anyone else notice the physical resemblance today? I think the actors you mentioned are doing well (aside from Finola, who just seems to be there, IMO), but most of the other cast members are struggling or just don't care. I noticed that with OLTL's last few years as well. I don't think this writer or producer do anything to inspire a cast, and the taping schedule makes it even worse.
June 18, 201213 yr Member And how the [!@#$%^&*] fragile do people think women are? I mean, I realize Jessica Buchanan was a lunchbox and static cling would set her off on a new personality, but if anyone could handle something like this it would be screechy tough as nails Tea. It's all so stupid, played out, and insulting. I dont think Todd switched the babies bc Tea couldnt handle it. He did it bc he felt bad for the pain he caused her when he killed her husband and didnt want to go back to her with news that he couldnt save her son. To him this was about redeeming himself and he got that, although its only going to be temporary

That's of course what makes it a drama, but I guess I tire of watching people making the same sort of misguided decisions of this magnitude.

FH's Anna is certainly bordering on flighty, but I'm actually enjoying this story more than I thought I would, being a diehard LuNacy fan, and all. I hope they keep this level of romp going for a while, with Alice and John thrown in to support their "teams". Then I want LuNacy for the win and a surprising John and Anna realizing what they mean to each other 'cause DAMN, there is more chemistry between those two then there is with either actor and anyone else (and I even like McBam). But before any of that happens, I want the interplay between Tracy, Anna and Heather to be worth watching. Sure it's superficially about a man, but those three have years of history between them even before bringing Luke into the equation, and I'd like to see that played out. I'm being cautiously optimistic. I dont think Todd switched the babies bc Tea couldnt handle it. To him this was about redeeming himself and he got that, although its only going to be temporary I watched the "switch", and to be fair Todd's sin is one of omission not commission. Yes, he should feel guilty as hell, but he didn't plan on ruining anyone's life - especially Tea's.

It's nice to see adults of a certain age playing drama that is more organically humorous and not undercut by cheap laughs and veiled old lady jokes. Of course they are different shows and FV/RC certainly had a particular vision for OLTL, but OLTL's vet set deserved MUCH better material given their strengths.
June 18, 201213 yr Member I think Robin Mattson is getting the same generic psycho material they give so many people. It's just trash, to me. I think Tony Geary is getting better material. Jane Elliot I go back and forth about as Tracy has been degraded for many years.

True, but at this point vets on GH have been starved for so long that anything looks like Manna.
June 18, 201213 yr Member I get why JE has a 5,757 page thread here, she energizes any scene, she knows and trusts her strengths as an actress, as Tracy, in a way that I'm afraid RS lost as Dorian as she waded through [!@#$%^&*]. True, but at this point vets on GH have been starved for so long that anything looks like Manna. Right, right, gotcha.
June 18, 201213 yr Member They seriously need to get more men in that age group bc I cant take 3 older women fighting over Luke. Its ridiculous.

Right, right, gotcha. I'm part of that almost 6K page forum, and a great deal of what we discuss is how she takes nothing and spins gold, so just imagine what could happen if she was actually given something worthy of her talent. They seriously need to get more men in that age group bc I cant take 3 older women fighting over Luke. Its ridiculous. AMEN, and start with having someone after Tracy for a change - for all the right reasons, and not just because he's poor and she's rich.

The thing is, you can give that same material to the girl who played Lisa or whoever and it might be ok at best. Robin Mattson however, being someone who can do no wrong, takes the stuff and just makes love to the crazy dialogue with her Lauren Bacall type voice, the best voice in daytime.
