Was it a new episode? For some reason, I thought that they were rerunning an earlier episode from last year or before. If it is new, then I'll catch it at some point.

Re: Cissy's aversion to Whitney's (alleged) homosexuality. I can't say that I'm surprised that she'd say that, as she never struck me as the kind of woman that'd have a live and let live outlook when it came to this. I'm not sure how I feel about the claim (as per what I'd read in the Jezebel comment section) that she had a long history of being homophobic, though....

I will say this, at least Robyn hasn't been whoring her relationship with Whitney to the media or divulging private information about her to make a quick buck.

I can't say the same about the Houston family (Cissy included).

After watching that Cissy interview on OWN, I checked out some online clips of The Houstons: On Our Own. It made me SO SAD to see how Bobbi was brushing off her grandmother. I don't see Cissy's book as disrespectful, or trying to "cash in" on their family tragedy (Pat, OTOH...). I think Cissy is devastated, alone, trying to work through her grief, and trying to get the last word, so to speak, on her beloved daughter. What's been said about Whitney for practically the last two decades of her life has been terribly disparaging and I think Cissy just wants the world to know who her daughter was at her very best.

Honestly, I don't think Cissy even knew who the real Whitney was for a good part of the last 15-20 years of Whitney's life.

We'll never get it, but that's why I think Robyn's "testimony" is the missing piece in this Whitney blitz. By all accounts, that was the defining relationship in Whitney's adult life (before their supposed falling out), regardless if it was anything sexual or not.

I agree. I think she would rather focus on and lift up her daughter's best and brightest qualities as she knew them.

I think what was said/unsaid in that OWN interview and by Robyn and others really says it all. I think Cissy has her gut instincts re: the Robyn relationship but without solid proof she'll leave it at, "I don't know for sure."

    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
