For those who are interested, Aisha Tyler does a podcast called Girl on Guy where she talks about "stuff guys love." Her latest one features an interview with Nathan Fillion. There's a part where he talks at length about his time at OLTL. The whole interview is about an hour long but he starts talking about OLTL at the 30 minute mark or so. He tells some nice stories about his co-workers and tells a couple of funny ones about Bob Woods. I particularly like his description of Don Jeffcoat.

A couple of warnings:

1.) The podcast is definitely NSFW. Aisha swears. A lot.

2.) She's an clearly an outsider to the genre so don't expect the "inside baseball" fawning we get from the soap press.

Tom Pelphrey has an indie film opening next month in which he co-stars with Melissa Archer (and, apparently every aging Jewish actor on the East coast. LOL!) I'll probably go see this if it comes to my city since I love a good addiction tale whether comedy or drama. Also I like Pelphrey and it looks like he has a real flair for comedy. Frankly I didn't even recognize him at first.

As for Archer...whatever my feeling about OLTL, "Natalie" or MA's acting talent, I'm happy for ANY soap actor who finds a way to keep working their craft. However, it doesn't look like she goes topless in this film so I know that will disappoint some of her fans on this board.laugh.pngraspberry.gif

Really? Good for them. As much as I love my sci-fi blockbusters (Avengers, Dark Knight, etc...), I'm drifting more and more towards indie films. It just seems like most of the major releases are just retread crap. I *loved* TSJ's movie In The Family (even though it was basically a month long) and it's been getting a great response. I hope this movie does well too, if for no other reason that it has two soapers leading the cast. I feel like indie film is a good next step for soap actors.

And even though I've talked plenty of trash about MA in the past (and probably will in the future), I have to say that I think both she and Pelphrey look really attractive in the trailer. It's amazing what happens when these actors get a chance to work in flattering lighting and clothes.

    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
    • Nicole is way too smart to not know she was carrying twins - she's a doctor! My guess is that Leslie did abort her baby out of fear, and as payback, stole Ted and Nicole's child (Eva), and stole Kat from another family to replace her in the hospital.
    • Those Soap Central profiles have a lot of incorrect info. According to SOD summaries and the Daytime Newsletter of the time,Tim left town for a new job and Pam reunited with the father of her baby and also departed Springfield. They did not marry.
    • Do we believe that Jabot is at the level of Estee Lauder?? I am on board with Jabot deciding to expand but the way it was handled was ridiculous. Jabot just decided and bingo, that was that. Not months of negotiations and decisions about how it would fit into the Jabot portfolio. And then no follow through. Josh thinks he's serving business stories by characters sitting around and discussing mergers, takeovers and job switching. Now we have Audra setting up her own company -Vibrator or something. Well, why not? You don't need staff, office space or even products.
    • He a dirty dog! Those are his kids and he hurt everyone. At this point he needed to just come clean. I can't believe I was lusting over this man! I hope they aren't quick to forgive.
    • The way I took it is that he did not want to confirm or deny anything until he talked to Nicole first. He was very calculated with the wording he used with Martin and Kat
    • I still see Alfonso Ribeiro as Carlton when Martin gets angry.
    • Not that I want to defend Y&R's writers, but it's not as absurd as you'd think and I believe they plucked it from reality (and then bungled it). The Estee Lauder Companies purchased Tom Ford's brand several years ago and I am willing to bet that's how Jabot came to buy Marchetti.
