I got to thinking about this and wondered how many AA actors were even on soaps. Well, looking at this list (via wiki, sod, and a few other cast list sites so it may be somewhat wrong) i am surprised to see so many named, to be honest, even tho there are not all that many. Most of these people are hardly used, and a good chink are on supporting. I no longer watch GH, but isnt Shawn on quite a bit and paired with Carly? Sonya Eddy, when i watched, was on a nice amount of time but in a very limited role. With days, Nurse Maxiene is pretty much the same. James has been used about the same amount over the past couple years, not a lot, but he is seen and supporting in a few stories. Renne is criminally misused. They currently have the mayor storyline, but that is more about Jennifer, Nicole and EJ than them.

I can not comment on B&B or Y&R. Here is the list-

Y&R: - Bryton James, Christel Khalil, Julia Pace Mitchell, Debbi Morgan, Kristoff St. John, Tatyana Ali, Tonya Lee Williams, Darnell Williams

B&B: - Texas Battle, Kristolyn Lloyd, Aaron D. Spears, Rodney Saulsberry

Days: - Renée Jones, James Reynolds, Aloma Wright (Nurse Maxine), Someone coming on as Celeste

GH: - Sean Blakemore, Sonya Eddy, Christopher Meyer

Im conflicted on either winner, to be honest. AMC did Binx & marissa very well, but it was also sort of rushed due to time issues i suppose. Days did a great job bringing Sonny in, with him being confident with who he is and having no issues about being gay and showing parents who also had no issues. However, the PSA storyline with T was annoying and awfully done.

I swear, they shouldnt even have a daytime soap section anymore. B&B and Y&R and GH are not going gay anytime soon.

I'm stunned there wasn't anyone nominated from either of the two long-time ABC soaps that were cancelled last year. Their absence is glaring especially next to the presence of ABC's GH. The nomination process doesn't change from year to year like the DT Emmys. This is the boilerplate text that's been used for the past two Awards:

The NAACP Image Awards Nomination Process - 2011

We received over 1,200 entries for the NAACP Image Awards. Potential nominees are submitted to our submissions committee by the artist, manager, publicist, production company, record label, studio, network or publisher to be selected as a final nominee for the NAACP Image Awards. From those entries, a special committee of 300 industry professionals and NAACP leaders from across the country selected five nominees in each of the 53 categories.

So who actually was submitted from AMC/OLTL and by whom? To find out, you'd have to ask the eligible actors and the two showrunners. I'd be very interested to hear from OLTL's FV (or his social-networking mouthpiece RC) the details of who he submitted since he's so "award-winning"-oriented.

That's Brandy and Ray-J's mother, it's from one of their reality shows. I know how much you love gifs. wink.png

You know it.

So who are the voters? ReddFoxx, you said you voted once. Are you on some panel or is it like The people's Choice Awards?
