Ugh. Carrie had to ruin all the fun of Hope carrying around a VOUCHER by repeatedly calling it an I.O.U. Doesn't she know that it's funnier when they obsess over a single word like voucher, paperweight or cameo?

And speaking of this voucher -- how ridiculous is it that Hope is going to invoke Alice's damn spirit to get John out of jail?

Hope: "I implore you to the right thing! You promised Alice you'd do whatever she wants and I know for a fact she'd want this!"

Stefano: "Where is your proof, Hope? Let the secrets of the dead rest with the dead in peace."

Marlena: "You'd better listen to her. I got chased out of Alice's house by Tom's floating head once, I can only imagine what a dead Alice can do to you."

Thursday's show was absolutely boring. Wow. Carrie and Rafe were at least (still) adorable together. ;-)

Is this really going to be the end of the "Alice's secret" storyline -- Hope uses it to pressure Stefano into freeing John? If so, it's a huge letdown, almost as lame as the teen Internet story. I really like the way these writers have made Salem feel like a community again, and I'm intrigued by Will's storyline. But aside from that, it's dull and flat. And it shouldn't be -- I enjoy most of these characters, even some regularly bashed on this board (I do think John's prison stint has proved Marlena is much more appealing apart from him, and I wouldn't mind Drake being shown the door). But it's like the writers are coasting on the characters' nostalgic appeal rather than giving them any real material. This is not a time when any soap can afford to do that.

^Probably because I've just been watching bits and pieces of the show and supplementing it with what I've been reading here. Yesterday's was the first full episode I've watched in a long time and it just seemed to me that the writers had set up Alice's secret as nothing more than a deus ex machina to get John out of jail. I'll be very happy to be proved wrong and watch Alice's secret deepen beyond what we've seen thus far.

Yea that was unbelievably painful. Pretty much an entire hour spent padding a couple of two-minute plot points. Honestly the first time I'd yelled at my TV while DAYS was on since Calliope and Anna spent a week in front of a beach towel reciting the same six lines over and over.

And were back to the DAYS when no one even bothers to comment on an episode of DAYS anymore. Not even a Friday one. Sad! This show is just ugh right now.

I get more and more confused and annoyed with Jenn. Every interview i read with Missy Reeves she says that Jenn is ''torn''. Uh that's NOT what i'm seeing even when Jenn herself claims it over and over. What I see is Jennifer missing Daniel and taking her anger and frustration out on Jack because of it. She literally shows no affection towards him at all, even after knowing all he's been through and what he's going through now. I find it disgusting & a disservice to Jack & Jenn's history. The writing/direction for Jenn is HORRID IMO.

POOR, POOR Daniel. LOOK AT HIM, HE'S SAD & HEARTBROKEN.

Austin is just tragic to listen to and look at. Im so sorry. I don't get what Abby sees in him. There is NOTHING appealing about him. I wouldve rather seen her insta-fall for EJ, Quinn or even Rafe instead.

I miss University Hospital and that scene. I noticed that ever since the new writers took over we never see it. Lexie is chief of staff but her only role now seems to be as Abe's wife and she gets airtime supporting this never ending campaign. We never see Daniel or Melanie there either and with her now getting a job at the day spa, I dont expect to in the enar future. I miss Maxine, who was a great recurring character but she's pretty much MIA. They could have given Marlena an office at the hospital again but now considering she will be working at the school, I dont think that will be happening. I wish they'd bring the hospital back

I miss Maxine to! And also Carly I'm not a fan of the bland design of University Hospital but i miss seeing that place as well. I'm sure someone will get hurt soon & it'll be back. LOL

I'm okay with the Hospital set being rested for a bit. It was getting silly how someone ended up in the hospital every week. Having said that, The Brady Pub & Horton Town Square are getting over used as well. It's time for more of a variety.
