More details.... The woman who was attacked is obviously not in it for any money, especially since she is wealthy herself and lives in a swanky condo in Manhattan, and she is donating any proceeds from the suit to charity

NEW YORK – A New York family claims that disco diva Patti Labelle launched into a rampage in the lobby of their Manhattan building, terrifying their toddler daughter to the point where she threw up in fear.

The “Lady Marmalade” singer’s tirade frightened 18-month-old Genevieve Monk so badly that she suffered “personality changes, sleep disorder” and “increased fear of strangers,” her family says in the Manhattan Supreme court suit.

It was Nov. 10 of last year when stagehand Kevin Monk, his kindergarten-teacher wife, Roseanna, and Genevieve were getting ready to go on a family trip.

While Kevin Monk got the car, Roseanna Monk came down to the lobby of their Riverside Boulevard building with their luggage, carrying Genevieve.

Roseanna Monk said she stopped near the door and put her daughter down for a moment.

“Someone came up behind me and said, ‘Do you know what your daughter is doing?’ I said ‘yes’ and went to pick her up,” she said.

LaBelle angrily admonished the pregnant woman.

“She said in an aggressive tone, ‘You shouldn’t have left your daughter by the door,’” Roseanna Monk said. “I told her, ‘I have no interest in what you say or think.' She became enraged and started using profanities -- the C-word and the F-word in a loud voice ... She had a bottle of water and started flicking water from the bottle on me."

She said Genevieve got hysterical. “I said to this woman, ‘Look what you’ve done to my daughter,’” the child's mother said.

LaBelle lunged at the mom -- who was still holding Genevieve -- and had to be restrained by her entourage and pulled out to a waiting car, Roseanna Monk said. The tot was crying so hard that she vomited, she added.

Later, the family sent a note asking for an apology from LaBelle but got no response.

LaBelle's lawyer and representatives did not return calls for comment.

The suit seeks unspecified damages, but the family’s lawyer, Sam Davis, said he took the case for free and that the family plans to donate any money it gets to a children’s cancer charity

“The purpose is to hold Patti LaBelle responsible for her conduct,” Davis said. “That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially when aimed at a kindergarten teacher carrying an 18-month-old child.”

I love Patti but I believe it went down just like that. I commend people in general when they call parents out for letting their kids run amok or just being inattentive in general, whether its in the grocery store, the mall, whatever. But if the woman got snippy with her for giving her two cents, Patti could have given her a few choice words and left it at that, she didn't have to cuss her the [!@#$%^&*] out and lunge and do the water thing, which we all know good and well she did.

Today, the New York Daily news is reporting that Patti actually took a swing at the mother.. but obviously didn't make any contact. Way to go, Patti!! Take a swing at a pregnant woman holding a baby cause she ANNOYED you. I'm thinkin it's time to send her to the funny farm for a while.

    • You might be going crazy and overthinking, because that's not how it goes.  Right now, it's the Hamiltons versus the Richardsons in the openings, with Alex Alegria/Buglioli/Ben Gavin with the Richardsons (Opening B), while Jen Jacob is with the Hamiltons (Opening A). Opening A: Brandon Claybon Timon Kyle Durrett Marquita Goings Jibre Hordges Jen Jacob Mike Manning RhonniRose Mantilla Arielle Prepetit Opening B: Alex Alegria Lauren Buglioli Sean Freeman Ben Gavin Trisha Mann-Grant Ambyr Michelle Colby Muhammad Keith D. Robinson By your reasoning, the opening should be (and would make zero sense): Opening A: Alex Alegria Lauren Buglioli Brandon Claybon Timon Kyle Durrett Sean Freeman Ben Gavin Marquita Goings Jibre Hordges Opening B: Jen Jacob Trisha Mann-Grant Mike Manning RhonniRose Mantilla Ambry Michelle Colby Muhammad Keith D. Robinson Arielle Prepetit
    • Oh yes, I still remember that. But I'm much kinder to David Henesy than you are overall.
    • I just finished the Locher Room Texas reunion.  I really enjoyed it.  I love that the actors have such fond memories of the time they spent working on Texas and with each other.  It is really special and unique.  Kin was being Kin.  He was moving the camera around or he was constantly moving, at one point he is completely in the dark, then you can't hear him.  lol.  He is like a hyper child.   And as I suspected Alan admitted he has not read Tom Lisanti's book.  It is lazy and unprofessional for him to not have done so before speaking with this group.
    • They were always meant to be short-term, I think - at least Mick and Lou.
    • No it's alphabetical between the two openings - the A-whatever is opening 1 and whatever-Z is opening 2. So in theory, if his last name started with an A, he'd be first in opening 1 and they would have had to remove Maurice (who was in opening 2), which requires edits to both. Unless I'm going crazy haha

    • All depends, really. Whichever opening had Johnson would have had to change; it's not like he was in both openings.
    • Well, it's alphabetical, so they got lucky with the actor's name fitting into place like that. Otherwise, if they stayed alphabetical, they could have had to change both.
    • To their credit, the new writers are clever to stick to current events from the time they were taping, versus trying to predict current events at the time the episode airs.  Case in point, Susan and questionable choice to hop on a cruise two days after her son was shot, and the case remains unsolved, so her remains at risk...

Although cruises around the world are not uncommon for Salem citizens like Julie, it seemed like the type of reference DOOL continues to like dropping into scripts for humor. Also, help me understand the Marlena and EJ interaction.  Didn't they come to a mutual détente earlier in the week?  I felt gaslighted, but I could've just as easily misunderstood Marlena's earlier talk to Belle, and then EJ. And is Bo in Boston (near Ceara) or Greece (where he was transferred after he was shot)?  I bet it is expensive to fly a coma patient transatlantically!
    • It was one of the bigger disappointments that Sarah wasn't part of the book.
    • They clearly loved her offcamera. I wish I could appreciate her work more, but...I don't. Thanks for telling me what Levin said at the end. I still don't think Carney was bad, but I guess he would always see them as not shining compared to Kate.
