Members Cheap21
Days. They cant afford to have multiple sets so they use the Horton Square for almost every occasion
Members jcar03
Speaking of DAYS, the Brady Pub is just about always closed to the public for some sort of family event.

Members gtru1981
Bring back Salem Place and get ride of Horton Square to make room for more sets. I assume that construction across the street from the studio is done (its been quite a few years now) and all you have to do is repaint Salem Place and move a camera around. Members Susan Hunter
A good soap opera really doesn't need big splashy sets or a ton of extras, but when I started watching Days again it took some getting used to the smaller, tighter sets and lack of extras. The Brady Pub is now half the size it used to be and empty. The Titan set was great in the 90s and the University Hospital set used to be big and really active. Now the offices seemed cramped and the hospital seems small and dead.
Members AMCHistory
The lack of extras is a problem. A bigger problem is when the show uses a contract player as a background player, and the viewer is forced to deal with them over gesticulating in the background (e.g., any scene that Peggy McKay is in). Members AMCHistory
This is so true. It broke me heart when we started seeing so many vets dropped from contract. At least on contract, there was hope that there was a storyline for them in the future. But without one, they were as good as gone. Which was so shameful because some actors who were with a show but 2 years got formal endings and beautiful end-episode montages, and the vets whom we loved and were deserving of such honors (e.g., Kristina Wagner, Jaclyn Zeman, Rachel Ames) were all but forgotten. Members Mr. Vixen
+1 million. Everyone knows how angry I am over the treatment of Jackie Zeman and Kristina Wagner, but the way Rachel Ames was treated DISGUSTS me. In so many ways, she IS General Hospital. And they treated her like absolute crap. It makes me sick.
Members ellabelle
It was cancelled. Prior to that though, the cast and crew were all forced to take huge pay cuts or leave, the show was moved to LA and in the process we lost both veterans like David Canary and popular newer stars like Thorsten Kaye. Veterans like Julia Barr were pushed aside with no real storyline and no airtime. We lost a lot of house sets, and/or people were living together when they really didn't need to: Opal and Krystal living with Tad and Cara in Joe and Ruth's old house - what happened to Cortlandt Manor? Bianca and her girls living with Caleb at Wildwind - why didn't they have their own place? David's cabin was gone, the Wildwind we'd all seen for years was redone in LA and looked nothing like it had before. We never saw an actual office for Cortlandt Electronics. Enchantment was dumped. We didn't see much of the Cambias offices in the final years. We also lost the church set that was regularly revised for weddings in the 90s. We lost Tempo magazine, the Glamourama, Myrtle's Boutique... so many workplaces were lost. The hospital was apparently given a major facelift, but we saw the same small bits of hospital room and hallway over and over again. We lost establish exterior shots. I loved seeing Wildwind, Cortlandt Manor, Linden House, Pine Valley Hospital, etc. Instead we were stuck with almost all of the action occurring at ConFusion, Krystal's, the Yacht Club, or a park. ConFusion was the worst: was it a nightclub? A bar? A restaurant? A place to have brunch? A church? Hell, Greenlee's MEMORIAL SERVICE was held there, as was one of her weddings to Ryan. Members frequentsoapfan
GH had more extras for Claudia's birthday than B&S's wedding and Robin's funeral. Brenda was supposed to be some supermodel ala Heidi Klum the way they hyped up her return and had characters like Kristina gushing about her from the magazines. Where were the models, designers, actors, etc who sould've attended the wedding? Lol I was confused as to what Confusion was supposed to be as well. And sometimes the music was too loud. Sicne Rihanna sang at the opening I thought it was supposed to be some hot nightclub
