Marland also balanced story for many characters when he was at ATWT. ATWT and AMC both eventually collapsed from the weight of that many people, but they did manage for a long time. GH had so many in the early '80s too. Given Frank's budget magic it shouldn't be as difficult for him. The writing and interest just aren't there.

Mean Jacob is the most effective part of his undercover persona. And he effectively lied his way through protecting cover.
That tracksuit looked horrible Joey and it showed why it is so hard to believe that this character is supposed to be hot especially when you consider the characters written to consider him attractive. It's just not working.

Same. Just look at BTG or as mentioned AMC.

I'm happy they are no longer just focusing on the Big Three, but there are far more better characters to focus on (and couples I might ask) than most of the ones that the writers and Frank choose to focus on.

I agree on Mark Andrews as Chad. He was nice to look at, but very wooden. I remember some very awkward scenes between Andrews and David Allen Brooks as Jim in that art or dance studio set that were just plain embarrassing! I missed the Republic of Eden storyline the first time in 1982, but caught in later on You Tube and it was as lame as it read on paper. It felt like someone held a gun to Slesar's head and told him to write an outrageous adventure storyline that heavily featured Lori Laughlin and Mark Arnold. It was a poor man's copy of a GH storyline on a minimum budget.

I mean, yes, bribing Britt with life saving meds is gross, but can't she use regular treatments? Isn't she using experimental treatments that aren't even available to regular people that have this disease? Unless Britt is supposed to be a special princess that deserves having this medicine, I don't really see a problem. There are other options for her besides being a criminal.

No she left as soon as the show became an hour in 1975. This is Susan Oliver, who leaves in June, which leads to them bringing in Marlena as a temporary filler until Rosemary Forsyth arrives in August as the new Laura, but instead Marlena ends up staying for over 50 years!
