October 18, 201114 yr Member I agree that this Jack/Jen/Dan is really bad right now. She's going to date both of them? Ugh. whats the point? We all know she's going pick Jack
October 18, 201114 yr Member Maybe they meant early in her second marriage (weren't they married three times, or was it just two). 1975 (As amnesiac Marty Hansen, invalid) 1976 (After Mickey and Laura legally divorced, Bill and Laura would marry soon after that same year) Divorced after Mickey came back from the dead and Maggie was with Don Craig February 14, 1985 (Double wedding with Pete and Melissa) 2004/5? (Renewed wedding vows after the whole Melaswen / Bonnie saga.) Maggie, wanting the feeling of being pregnant and giving birth, became artificially inseminated in early 1981, as Neil Curtis had set up an A.I. project of sorts. Sarah was born on December 25, 1981. Therefore, MarDar are loosely using history but, in the end, are [!@#$%^&*] it up just like everyone else does these days. LoL Edited October 18, 201114 yr by Bright Eyes
October 18, 201114 yr Member ^^ I'm not completely convinced they are screwing with history altogether. Sure it's a stretch (hello, soap opera here) but they might be able to pull it together depending on all the specialists Maggie would have seen back then. Regardless of intentions, the process was still in its infancy and who knows who Neil would have had to have on board to make it happen. The solid comment of "20 years" is interesting and again makes me wonder who will ultimately be the "child" involved. A few of the names thrown around are possible, but a few others wouldn't be with that date associated with this story.
October 18, 201114 yr Member I really enjoyed today's episode. I'm this "working mother" storyline they have Sami in. I'm normally a big fan of Melanie, but this Abby/Chad/Melanie triangle, I'm interested in seeing how it goes. As for the website story, if they turn this into a cyberbullying story, I think they'll really have something (and relevant), cause other wise it's been quite a bore. I don't remember the exact words, but liked the foreshadowing they dropped when Sonny said he's not going back down in case there is one person out there struggling with being gay, then the camera moves to Will & his reaction. Nice touch. Edited October 18, 201114 yr by wingwalker
October 18, 201114 yr Member Marlena to John: "I think we're boring them honey" Bitch, you're boring me!!!! I ain't even gonna lie. PM looks alot better withotu a shirt then I thought he would Edited October 18, 201114 yr by Cheap21
October 19, 201114 yr Author Member Nice surprise there were actually some good S/L's today! Melanie/Chad/Abby is very promising. Abby was highly annoying today whining about Jack to Melanie. Melanie and Chad were ADORABLE, it helps that the actors are together in real life! i LOVED the Sami/Madison scenes. Go Sami! She really is a good mom and she handled everything very well with Johnny. The website stuff is still on the boring side but the dialogue was better today I hate both of them with a fierce passion, but Rafe & Carrie wouldn't mind seeing those two get down and dirty soon and having a full on love affair.

October 19, 201114 yr Member As Shawn said, Maggie had it done on the show in the 80's and was a surrogate herself. However, i believe the show is saying this was done early on her marriage to Mickey. But this is days, so logical thinking needs to go out the window. This reset is awful. No doubt the show has been bad for a year and unwatchable for the summer, but this is just more of the same with different characters. Its boring. I can not find one story to in vest in or anyone to root for. Nothing makes me want to watch day to day. I haven't seen that much, only bits and pieces really, but I thought the show was decent. They have a terrific cast right now and I see what they're going for-- featuring popular couples with lots of history in Salem prominently. Which was the core of DAYS at its peak and what it was known for above all other soaps. But what struck me is how the show seems so damn conservative (not in a political sense, in an "afraid to take risks" sense.) It feels like they're trying to walk on eggshells and not do anything particularly earth shattering. Which is where they fail to capture the nostalgia fully, because one great part of Days was couples but another was that they took risks and shocked you and did crazy [!@#$%^&*] you never saw coming. So in being SO careful in their desire to recapture a bygone era they are actually doing the opposite of what made that show successful in that bygone era I do think it's hilarious that, in terms of long-term characters and core families, DAYS and B&B are really the most stable shows on daytime. LOL. Edited October 19, 201114 yr by juppiter
October 19, 201114 yr Member Nice surprise there were actually some good S/L's today! It wasnt heavy on the supercouples and featured more of the other characters Melanie/Chad/Abby is very promising. Abby was highly annoying today whining about Jack to Melanie. Melanie and Chad were ADORABLE, it helps that the actors are together in real life! I have to say this but I loved her hair today. She really is coming into her looks as I thought she looked a mess when she joined but so much better now i LOVED the Sami/Madison scenes. Go Sami! She really is a good mom and she handled everything very well with Johnny. I cant beleive Madison gave her such an important position after seeing how hectic her life is with 3 young children who make a mess of her papers and are distracting. Says alot for Madison to havealot of faith in her, but in the real world, Sami would NEVER get such a big promotion after what, 2-3 days of work? The website stuff is still on the boring side but the dialogue was better todayThey read like an afterschool special and that is not a good thing I hate both of them with a fierce passion, but Rafe & Carrie wouldn't mind seeing those two get down and dirty soon and having a full on love affair. They better not cheat
October 19, 201114 yr Administrator Tomlin's cut-to-black is back. For the past 2.5 months, they mostly had fade-to-blacks which a couple of cut-to-blacks here and there. But now it seems like the majority of scenes ends with the cut-to-black. Come on, Maxam! Why did you bring those back? But what struck me is how the show seems so damn conservative (not in a political sense, in an "afraid to take risks" sense.) I sort of agree with that but M&D's storylines just started 4 weeks ago. It's going to take some time before they can get where they want to be at to be able to take those risks. So many storylines are at the beginning stages and that's why things are extremely slow. I'm not going to lose faith in Reilly's protegés 4 weeks in. But I hope see more Reilly-isms, more risk taking, more "big" storylines.
October 19, 201114 yr Member Aside from Hellanie who I fast forwarded through, the show was great today. The dialogue/interactions seemed natural, and there was great acting all around. I do wish that after school special message with Will, Sonny, et al. was toned down a bit, but it's not horrible.

As long as the gate to Hell doesn't open beneath the Horton Town Square, I'll be fine with a Reilly-ism here and there.
