Members Days22
God tomorrows US show is so ying and yang. Stefano/Marlena scenes are greatness! but Jack/Jenn/Tan are atrocious. Puke worthy. Id rather watch sister wives to puke. I'm not gonna be able to take Days this coming week I have a feeling. God help us all. lol
Members Cheap21
I only watched the first two segments and was bored as hell. Marlena blaming Stefano for everything yet again, more boring Carrie/Austin and the triangle from hell. Im not sure if I will go back and watch the rest of the show
Members JaneAusten
This Dan/Jenn/Jack triangle is just not worth watching. I used to love Jack and Jennifer and Jack as a character now I can't stand them. Jack is being written as an insesure pathetic jerk while Daniel sounds like the sensible one. WHo is it the show wants me to root for because right now I want both men to walk away from her. CArrie/Austin zzzzz and there is something odd about the way PM talks I liked the Stefano;/Marlena stuff for nostalgia but thats it. So far the only story I really like anymore is the EJ/Abe mayor storyline and thats really a subplot to this embezzlement story. The embezzlement story in concept is actually good but its hard to maintain longterm interest in a story like this IMO. Time will tell and hopefully it doesn't go the predictable route. Administrator Toups Posted October 17, 2011 Administrator Share Posted October 17, 2011 I agree that this Jack/Jen/Dan is really bad right now. She's going to date both of them? Ugh. I loved the Marlena/Stefano scenes! How he told her she'll always have a special place in his heart but he loves Kate now. And him calling her "Queen of the Night" makes me smile. Joe and Deidre are so good in scenes together. It's only natural for Marlena and John to think Stefano was behind it. It would be a missed beat if they didn't play the Stefano card. But I think it's safe to say we can rule out Stefano as the mastermind. So Maggie got her eggs frozen before or during her marriage to Mickey? I had no idea they had that kind of procedure back in the 60's/70's.
Members Cheap21
You are watching a soap opera. Remember that
Members Shawn
If I'm not mistaken, she was a surrogate back on the early 80's, giving birth to Sarah, hence the frozen eggs.
Members DRW50
Didn't Maggie spend all her time on the farm, barely able to walk, until she met Mickey? I think the show is, as always, so focused on how to make Daniel the most sympathetic/noble person in his story that everything else suffers. The biggest problem is that Melissa Reeves is just awful with him. If they need to make Daniel their superstar, then it's time to have him grope another patient. Administrator Toups Posted October 17, 2011 Administrator Share Posted October 17, 2011 Ahh!!! Okay it make sense now. Thanks. I hope they mention this on the show for people like me who don't really know Maggie's history. Wow, I though invitro was 90's discovery, but it was done in the 70's and 80's. Members Shawn
I thought it was a more recent discovery myself. Maybe it didn't become trendy until the 90's.
Members jam6242
The first in-vitro baby was born in 1978. Maggie's surrogate story was a few years after that. However, Maggie didn't use in vitro, as she didn't have a problem conceiving (Mickey was sterile). She was artificially inseminated. This whole story is making my head hurt since it's so out of line with the real timeline, & Mickey & Maggie's history (which I saw from the beginning). Members JackPeyton
As Shawn said, Maggie had it done on the show in the 80's and was a surrogate herself. However, i believe the show is saying this was done early on her marriage to Mickey. But this is days, so logical thinking needs to go out the window. This reset is awful. No doubt the show has been bad for a year and unwatchable for the summer, but this is just more of the same with different characters. Its boring. I can not find one story to in vest in or anyone to root for. Nothing makes me want to watch day to day.
Members DRW50
Maybe they meant early in her second marriage (weren't they married three times, or was it just two).
Members quartermainefan
I am really digging the whole reset. I think DOOL finally has gotten over its obsession with Sami, EJ and Nicole on 5 days a week discussing babies, and they have assembled a group of characters I can watch without turning the channel. I don't mind Daniel, to me he just is your typical shirtless a lot soap nice guy. Watching Marlena and Stefano > watching Sami and EJ, and having them back I think really has gone a long way for me in making me feel like I am watching the real DOOL. Plus Bo and Hope, plus Jack and Jennifer, plus we still see a lot of Victor, Maggie, Stefano, Brady and Kate. I could watch this crew forever if it meant no Tamara Braun, no Sydney, and no random Rafe relatives. I have not enjoyed DOOL this much since I'd have to say the Dimera/Kiriakis feud where Victor had Stefano hostage.
Members JackPeyton
the 70's, 80's. I think thats it unless they did one when she came back from the dead after the SSK story.
