I seriously am starting to feel a breakdown coming. I watched all 12 episodes from the SOAPnet marathons right now. Just OMG. I will savor this week for all it's worth and then miss AMC TERRIBLY. sad.png:(

"This isn't like GL and ATWT," I keep telling myself, "it will be back."

They must really want to keep this week's events a secret. The TV Guide descriptions for the last five episodes (daaaamn) just generically say that this is the last week and there will be some guest stars. Except for the final episode, which says:

Erica Kane, as well as her friends and enemies in Pine Valley, bid adieu as the series' final episode airs on ABC.

I started welling up at "friends and enemies."

I wish we'd stop acting like it's the final episode. It's not the final episode; it's the final one on ABC. There's a difference.

For me, that era ended around '92. But here I am, clinging like a cheap wool sock to the hope that AMC will rebound and thrive online. sad.png

My cable guide says Series Finale on Friday and its the same description all week.

"A look at the history and legacy of the families of Pine Valley."

Three years ago, when I finally moved to NYC, GUIDING LIGHT ended. Last year, it was AS THE WORLD TURNS. This week, it's AMC (with OLTL following after the new year). Three strikes, and I'm out. I'm moving back home at the end of this current school year, regardless of where I am in my studies. NYC is now associated with too many painful memories for me.

I'll watch the majority of this week live... (Ugh! Commercials, though)

However, it probably won't sink in for another few months. Sort of the way I had a moment concerning Oprah just last week. I was thinking "Ooh, it's 4pm! I wonder what's on Oprah?!" And then I was like "Oh... right."

That's probably going to be the same with this show. I'll know it's done, having watched the finale. But probably around December, I'll be thinking "Ooh, it's 1pm... I think I'll check out -- Oh... right."

I just want a montage set to Boyz II Men's It's So Hard to say Goodbye to Yesterday.
