GH: Lucky "dies" in the apartment fire. I cried through the week's worth of episode. Boy did I feel uber-cheated when at the end of the week, he was revealed to be alive, just being held captive.

The first clip is Tony and the doctor talking about his "problem" being a husband to Tania again

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWwhC1r0OWQ

The second clip is Tony and Frisco discussing his problems

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=gx8ZU1JIC4U

The third and fourth clips is Tania getting hit and dying.

I suggest a big box of hankies for the last two clips.

B&B: When Storm shot himself and Brooke knew exactly what had happened. The whole scene was very sad. I don't cry much at all at anything, but that one got me.

EastEnders: Peggy leaving Albert Square.

Here's another vote for Jennifer's death on ATWT. Although the story leading up to it was kind of contrived, the deathbed scenes themselves were fantastic. Everyone who said their farewells gave great performances (Kim, Bob, Will, Dusty, even Paul , who I usually couldn't stand). But it was Colleen Zenk and Ben Hendrickson who REALLY delivered in those scenes. When Jennifer whispered into Hal's ear "Daddy, I'm scared", I just totally lost it. Knowing that Ben Hendrickson would die in real life about a month later just added to the sadness.

Not quite on the same level, but still sad, were the goodbye scenes between Katie and Simon at the fence. Both actors rose above their usual gimmicks to deliver heartfelt performances.

DAYS: I remember in high school when I was sitting on a lunch break when I worked at a grocery store and watching Marlena's return in about 1992/93. She appeared in the fog on the docks and John was there to find her. She was returning from a Stefano kidnapping/presumed death. I guess that's about all I remember of the story line, but I remember tearing up and practically bawling in front of that little black and white TV in the break room.

Thank you, Carl! How could I forget Didi's death on OLTL? I really think there was something special about Didi for Bo, when you compare that relationship to Bo & Nora and Bo & Sarah... Didi just seemed to gel so well with him - like they had a very deep understanding of each other. And maybe, in the soap world, there was the problem: Once Bo & Didi beat all the obstacles, what potential conflict was left? I still think there could have been more for them. Maybe then-HW, the late S. Michael Schnessel didn't see it, or Barbara Treutlaar didn't want to stay with OLTL (or a combo of both). But I will always think of Didi's romance as the most sophisticated, trusting, and loving relationship Bo ever had.
