It's a good promo. If Maura West were playing a short-term villain and this were the resulting story (and the show didn't keep going back to the mysterious death thing every three months), this could be pretty good. But it's ridiculous that they had to kill off Diane Jenkins for what I'm sure will be a horribly executed story about the same four people.

For months people have been saying how horribly miscast MW was as Diane so I am quite shocked at all the outrage at her being fired. I like MW a lot and I don't think she ever fit on the canvas or as Diane but I do think in her last few weeks since she's been given better material we've seen MW be able to showcase her talent more and I think she's done a great job. Still doesn't take away the fact she doesn't fit as Diane. Now killing off Diane because an actress is miscast is ridiculous but knowing MAB Diane will be back with Melissa Claire Egan playing her in a few months.

THe promo is actually pretty decent.

LOL about Melissa Claire Egan. But I think that's exactly why most Y&R fans are pissed -- not that Maura West has been fired, but that Diane's being killed off because the show had to go ahead and cram a popular (and very talented, but miscast) actress anywhere they could just to get her on the canvas.

This happens quite a bit. I don't know how many times I have read comments about how horrible an actress/actor is until they get the boot especially when the actress/actor is treated terribly by TBTB. See Also Sabine Singh.

In Maura's case it is because people actually liked her but felt she was miscasted AND they like the character of Diane and hate that she has been murdered.
