I was happy to pay at WoST. I think I paid like fifteen bucks for three years' worth of content. There were so many donations and people interested that the site was paid for for like two years in advance and Brian never charged any of us again (which he certainly could have). Some people objected to paying on principle which really vexed me as it was such a nominal amount and the stuff being uploaded wasn't exactly found at your local Blockbuster.

That's because HBO,etc are paid channels to begin with. ABC is free. You cannot just move these shows online and expect viewers that have watched for FREE for 40/30/20 years to just pay for them all of a sudden. Especially when half of the actors and actresses they are accustomed to are leaving.

Oh and SFK. I can imagine WoST being different. $15 for a backlog of things otherwise unavailable. But, I can already see PP being a monthly thing. Like $10 a month. $120 to watch two soap operas a year. That's a bloody joke if that happens.

I would pay to watch a soap a) if I thought the soap was good enough and b ) if they will consider showing full episodes of material from the 80s, and what is available from earlier than that.

If the show is good, then something like $5 a month, I could do. I pay more than that for Skinemax.
