According to my sources, Prospect Park is now asking All My Children's head writer Lorraine Broderickand creator Agnes Nixon to end the serial's network run with a life-or-death cliffhanger, where the audience won't know who in Pine Valley lives or dies."That way, if certain actors decide not to do the show, it can be readily explained when the new show debuts alongside One Life to Live next year on the web," says the setsider.

WOW.

Now how would that life or death cliffhanger work?! I really wish we knew who was staying & going. Sounds like a real mess to me. I would hate if AMC went out like that. Would it end with a huge tragedy happening and viewers having to guess who died and who didn't? Man I would REALLY hate that. But then again, how else would they explain almost (or perhaps even more than) half of PV being gone by the time it's online.

I wish they would not kill off a bunch of characters. Some people who choose not to appear initially, may very easily change their minds in a year or two. Some will be lucky enough to find other work, but many won't. Some of them may decided that the pay check PP is offering is better than working a non acting job, but it may take some time for them to come to that decision. Kind of like when people leave soaps to find prime time work, but come back if they don't find it.

I don't really buy that will happen. I'm not really believing anything from any of these sources.

Haha, thats funny bc Ive joked over the years about wanting a soap to end with the entire town blowing up.

BOMBSHELL Details on Prospect Park Deal: Has All My Children's Online Debut Been MOVED to January? Is General Hospital ALREADY Part of Licensing Deal?!

http://daytimeconfidential.zap2it.com/2011/07/22/bombshell-details-has-all-my-childrens-online-debut-been-moved-to-january-is-gene

Random headline CAPITALIZATION means it MUST be TRUE.

Whatever.

"The New York Post story [which broke the deal to move the shows online] took Prospect Park by surprise," explains one insider. "As people are now seeing, things weren't quite in place. They plan on making a go of [taking the soaps online], but the leaks have had them scrambling to adjust their plans."

I figured as much. That's why I didn't believe a September launch and I don't really believe a January launch.

As soon as we heard about this deal, I wondered if GH was already part of the deal. I'm sure many of us were thinking it, so that part makes sense to me. I guess we'll see if it's true soon enough.

Which means this is all going to be a big failure. By the time they are ready to go online the fans will have moved on to other things.

SID has pretty much the same "scoop" as DC, but had this to add:

And remember how ABC's press release said that Prospect Park would continue to broadcast AMC and ONE LIFE TO LIVE in their same length, but made no mention of how often the shows would air? Our spy reports that the latest scuttlebutt is that AMC may become a seasonal series -- not a daily one -- thus opening up the door for the cast to pursue other projects.

As we gather more information, we will let you know!

To paraphrase SOD's reaction to an old soap cancellation:

JHC - Again Failure Why?

Seasonal is perfectly fine and should have been attempted on the networks years ago. But that would require people actually giving a damn, and...

I still want my four ATWT movies a year on Hallmark Channel :(
