Yep. It's obvious to me that he (and Looch) want answers before they signed themselves to this. They don't want to be stuck doing the same show they've been doing for the last 5 years.

It's been like this since 2008 or 2009. But it seems to have gotten a lot of notice, so I guess that's just what people want to see. I'm hoping they may at least have some more diversity once they're off ABC.

I just don't get this big boost OLTL supposedly got. It was really the 2 Todd story that pushed them ahead. Gaining ground because GH continues to lose audience as does BB and YR to me is not a gain. And look at TeamEric's numbers. OLTL is again behind their demos from this time last year. They have just lost less ground than the other shows.

Uh how do Execs/HWs get rehired to oversee a show that was cancelled under their tenure

I know people put the blame a lot on BF for OLTL and saying he had his hands all up in it, but I am not so sure he had his hands ALL up in it. While I am sure he def intefered with OLTL, I cant say it was mostly him as each HW for the last 10 years has had different writing styles/different tones for the show. IE I dont ever remember seeing all this man flesh under Malone or Higleys tenure, so imo it's all RC and I expect to see more of that prolly in the PP version UGH!

RC definitely has helped with the camp and shirtlessness, though it seems FV is all too happy to go along with it. To be fir, OLTL has increased viewers at time when soaps generally aren't, even if it was anceled, so I'm sure that's a point in his favour. (and "man flesh" or not, as annoyed as I am with some of OLTL right now, I'll still take it over Higley's horrific tenure).

And LDC doesn't come with a Chris Whitesell as HW guarantee.

Oy yoy yoy.... I am horrified by the idea of what Whitesell's AMC would look like, even if he co-HW with Broderick like they did at OLTL.

Lack of vision. To be fair, I think it was hard for an EP at AMC to have a vision, when the vision mandates seemed to be dictated by Frons and other execs--but a good EP should have some creative vision and pull, even if it's largely just guiding the HW in the right direction and tone. JHC exhibits absolutely none of that.

I'm actually still not really worried. They seem to be in very different places in terms of cast, timing, everything--although I agree news of a HW would be nice, and seemingly should be made by now.

I know some people are worried/excited about the thought that PP is focusing on OLTL "over" AMC. But as somebody whose "loyalties" are well documented on this board, I can say that I'm not upset. If it's true that PP has decided to focus their time, energy and money on OLTL, I don't think that costs AMC anything. In fact, I think it benefits AMC.

Let's imagine that PP chooses to launch OLTL in January and "table" AMC. If OLTL is wildly successful that only increases the motivation to launch AMC. If OLTL flames out, then they're they ones who get raked over the coals and no one gets to write the "Is the Webby the new version of the Daytime Emmy??!!" headlines.

So even though it's not my show, I want PP to focus all their attention on OLTL and I call on my fellow AMC fans to support them. OLTL's success is good for all of us. Even the PGP fans. Who knows? Maybe we can resurrect other shows.
