Don't worry. She doesn't know what she's talking about. What they'd be doing with signing on to Prospect Park is akin to what any other actor in Hollywood would be doing if they book a job during pilot season. During pilot season, you book a show, you sign on to do that show prospectively (no pun intended) for the next FOUR years if the show gets picked up by a network. While that's not a guarantee that you'll have steady employment for four years, because the network could cancel the show or insist the studio fire a certain actor and replace them with another, it's still an agreement that barring the unforeseen you will. Then, after four years, contracts are renegotiated and actors have been known to leave.

Esther Rolle left Good Times after its 4th season.

Jaimee Foxworth was written out of Family Matters after its 4th season

David Garrison left Married... with Children after its 4th season

Suzanne Somers put Three's Company in contract limbo after its 4th season...

So, signing to a four year deal with Prospect Park is no different than signing on with any other production company for four years. It's industry standard for television. No matter where you sign, it'll be for four years and you'll be taking a gamble -- no matter what.

That's television. This is the internet. If these shows end up on Bravo that's one thing but asking these actors to tie themselves exclusively to something that only a handful of people might see and turn down any other opportunities they might get even if they aren't getting airtime is IMHO asking too much especially for people who have just come off the burn of having moved across the country to "save" AMC only to have it canceled shortly after. Chrishell will probably be seen by more eyes in her guest gig on Body of Proof than will be watching AMC.com.

This now becomes a Chrishell Stause issue because she's got reservations about things? Same as Jacob Young being lambasted for daring to take a role on B&B. GUess what ABC and AMC allowed Chrishell to continue to work on their show without a contract since the move to LA and never uttered a word against her or vice versa. Since the union still has some reservations about the deal I doubt CS is alone in having reservations.

I am sure they will come to a satisfactory resolution and hopefully a fair compromise for both ends. Its a new venture for both ends so there is to be expected to be some issues working things out. I just don't endorse the fact that some seem to think the actors should walk in no matter what deal is put on the table and start lambasting the actors because of it. I read some of the comments elsewhere about how dare Susan Lucci decline their offer as if she had no right to want to negotiate. Fortunately they do have a union looking out for their best interests.

That's always it for some people. The actors should be grateful that anyone wants to deal with them and just sign on the dotted line because being a soap actor is the best thing ever.

I have nothing against PP. Sure I've called them the soap version of Pets.com but maybe they'll become Amazon. I would love for these actors to sign with PP but I completely understand why they wouldn't want to. Sorry but I'm just not seeing what PP brings to the table for actors who are young or have a varied resume that would make them decide to pass other opportunities for a web series. It's one thing for people like Jill Larsen or Jerry Ver Dorn. I love them both and I think that based on their talent, they should both be getting tons of work but they aren't. PP is perfect for them. Just like ME, KDP and ES. I'm not sure what CM and LH were thinking.

How many people in this thread would've predicted years ago that Kelli Giddish would work constantly from the day she left the show (a la Michelle Forbes/Cynthia Watros/Jessica Tuck/Nathan Fillion)? How many of them would've said she should just sign with PP?

Pretty awesome! Glad there's finally a site, I signed up for the updates... ;-). Not sure if it's a good idea for them to wait to launch it in January, why not put some stuff on it now so people can get familiarized with the site? Put up repeats of PP related programming & anything else they can get, plus advertise AMC, OLTL, and any other show they have in the works until they're launched.
