Haha WTF, they aired previews for the next OLTL for tomorrow's episode! Perhaps the previews are back to stay?

-David telling Dorian "We have a pool to ourselves, let's get naked" and dropping his towel.

-Something with Brody and Natalie, don't remember what.

-Vimal telling John he can't keep this up anymore.

-Todd listening to them outside.

Haha, sorry guys. July isn't a sweeps month, though. I hope they keep them until the show's end, it'd be a nice little treat for the fans.

July was a sweeps months for local markets. I have no idea if that is the case anymore.

And what's unfortunate is that all of the pimping of the character has made me resent the sight of the actor which is totally unfair on my part. I check myself on stuff like that but I find the obvious bts favoritism really off-putting and hard to ignore.

I personally don't care because I am a spoiler whore.

I'm not as nice as you are so I end up disliking Gregory because of those annoying photos at various gatherings where he does the Church Lady lip-puckers and shows off his biceps or whatever else.

:lol: I think it was Na'vell who did a bunch of red carpet interviews at the Emmys and there was a group one where he was on there smacking the hell out of his gum just as he used to do as Ford and it was reach through the screen annoying as [!@#$%^&*].

Guiding Light Discussion Thread

What I liked about Bloss is that I liked how they grew to be the stable couple- the closest to an Ed and Mo in their prime. Especially after the Tori story when their extra-marital exploits were in the past. I wanted them to SORAS the three kids, along with Dinah and with Phillip's family as Ross's extended family would really be solid core family material.
With that said, I was rooting against Bloss in 1999 as I really liked the Ross/India pairing-- but that just turned out to be a waste of MKA.

They did actually resolve who shot Austin over a year later (it was Cyrus, as part of his hasty exit story). That was a last minute save though clearly when they forgot lol.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's

The return of sitcoms' popularity in the mid-'80s was a real thing, but the crash of the wealth-based nighttime soap genre was resonate and self-induced.

There was an effectively grim finality to the mood of the cliffhangers in the Spring of 1985: Bobby's death, the Moldavian massacre, the return of Val's babies... and they felt as if they could have ended right there (and perhaps they should have, although I would have sorely missed S10 of Dallas, S6 of FC, and Season 9 of Dynasty , and the next five years of KNOTS as they singularly maintained quality).

But, wow, these shows just fell apart post-Spring 1985. They stopped being character dramas after a while, and just started trying to "impress" viewers in some superficial way and to "fake it" somehow.

What a painful, unnecessary slide it was. But once these shows seemed to lose their identities, their sense of self, their momentum into the dung heap couldn't be slowed.

It is very strange. They have insisted on having 30+ contract players for years now. If they had less cast, they could up everyone's episode guarantees, balance the cast out more. Like 20-25 would be perfect. Have everyone else recur.
If you look back at the history of the show, especially in the 1970s and in the 2010s, whenever the show was at it's most successful, it had smaller casts. Audience relate to the characters more, because they see more of them. In 2009 and 2013, the show had arguable it's most successful periods since the early 2000s (ratings wise that is). They had smaller casts and focused on 3 or 4 stories the whole year. That's what they should be doing at this point. Have a few umbrella stories, that last the whole year, and involve the whole cast. But again, before that, fix who we see on screen cause.....😬
