Here's another great cancellation casting surprise! A rep for ABC's One Life to Live tells TV Guide Magazine that the wonderful Erin Torpey, who played Jessica Buchanan from 1990 to 2003, will return to the axed soap for one last appearance. Torpey won't be seen as Jessica — that role is now played by Bree Williamson — but will play a different character, which the show has asked us to keep hush-hush. (Look for Torpey to reunite in a fun, special way with one of her former co-stars!)

This isn't the first time the actress has returned to Llanview in a non-Jessica capacity. In 2008, she appeared as part of the soap's 40^th anniversary celebration as Jessica's stillborn daughter Megan who helped guide Viki (Erika Slezak) during a trip to Heaven. Torpey is scheduled to shoot her farewell scenes on Wednesday. Look for her on-air in September.

Nice! Glad it's an actual vet. But honestly, this is OLTL. They should've played up their campiness and had her step in as Jessica briefly.

That would be OH so funny and I was thinking the same thing. How lame would that be, though? Cristian gets paired with a rando who conveniently looks identical to his first love?

I kept opening these threads hoping that it is Kathy Brier returning, but it will be good to see Erin Torpey again. She was a decent actress unlike the horrific Bree Williamson.

I cannot wait to see Erin again and I would really like to see her in scenes with Erika Slezak, but it's probably something lame like ushering Cristian out of town.
