It will be amazing if we could record the skipped episodes. Did someone sent a list of the skipped youtube episodes to the guys that are filling in the gaps?

I've seen this error before. I think it should be okay in the future.

Notes I've made of skipped or faulty YouTube episodes are (I'll put in brackets the faulty ones, the rest are skipped episodes), that would be amazing if they could be replaced by higher quality Netherlands copies when they become available:

Please register in order to view this content

S13: 3170, 3172, 3181 (faulty), 3203 (faulty), 3223 (faulty), 3255, 3278 (faulty), 3345, 3361 (faulty)

S14: 3399, 3455 (faulty), 3479 (faulty), 3509 (faulty), 3555 (faulty end credits), 3580, 3600 (faulty), 3613 (faulty)

S15: 3658 (faulty), 3667, 3668, 3669, 3670, 3674, 3678, 3679, 3681, 3682, 3684, 3685, 3686, 3690, 3692, 3694, 3696, 3697, 3699, 3709

S16: 4058, 4059, 4109

S17: 4137, 4194, 4262, 4284, 4358, 4362, 4371

S18 so far skipped: 4450, 4451. There may be further S18 episodes to replace in English if there are any further skips on YouTube, as many episodes from this season are just in German in the vault, and if they skip those, then we probably have to wait for an eventual Netherlands airing unless someone currently has them in English (currently the German ones needing to replace to full English for S18 are: 4477, 4485, 4486, 4492, 4493, 4494, 4497, 4514, 4515, 4518, 4520, 4522, 4523, 4524, 4526, 4531, 4538, 4541, 4575, 4612 - hopefully YouTube will not skip these, and they won't be a problem to fix).

Also, jumping ahead a bit to future seasons, but does anyone have full English speaking copies of any of 4852, 4897, 5275, 5308, 5590, 5591, 5594 (as these are not in full or at all in English in the vault as far as I can tell)? Many thanks if you do!

A million thank yous to all Angels helping out with these.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. If there was any way we could sticky this post or make it so we don't forget where it is. I'm going to bookmark it for sure!

AND WOW... Season 15 - nearly a whole month of skipped episodes. LOL.

Shout! TV has now added season 26. Not sure what the reasoning for that was, but maybe it was the one that was ready to go...

I’ve reached the summer of 1998.

Until now, my impression has been that the show has steadily improved since the great quality dip of 1994, reaching as high as 8/10 in 1997. Sure, I could complain about a few things in 1997 (Claudia got wasted after her initial storyline; Thorne’s feelings for Taylor were a bit too sudden; the storyline where Sheila lived with James and Maggie while pregnant got rather boring; Mike periodically revisiting Sheila despite being on the run from authorities), but overall it was a very strong year.

I liked the Thorne/Taylor/Ridge triangle, the mystery plot about who shot Grant, the sham wedding to trap Sheila, Stephanie/Eric/Lauren, and Clarke manipulating his way back to working at Forrester. I even liked the Greenland storyline with Eric/Lauren/Rush, although I had expected to hate it. Maybe 1996 tops 1997 in raw soapy excitement (especially as Sheila got a chance to interact with a larger canvas of characters), but certain problems with overall storyline cohesion puts it somewhat below 1997 for me.

Unfortunately, early 1998 has turned out to be a bit of a speedbump, perhaps on par with 1995 levels of quality:

- Maggie’s character really got trashed after James left her to be with Sheila, and the early 1998 storylines where she imprisoned Sheila in the house from Psycho, or installed those wires and mikes and such in her house to make her think she’s going crazy, were total GARBAGE. So much so that the latter storyline (and Maggie with it) pretty much disappeared into a limbo.

- I have mixed feelings about the twins plotline with Lauren. No way did Rush survive being shot with a crossbow through the chest, and the romance between Lauren and Rush’s good twin brother Johnny was rather dry to me. I did however enjoy the camp aspect of Rush taking his brother’s place to be with Lauren, and Eric rescuing her. But it doesn’t appear like Bell cared too much about the Johnny/Lauren romance beyond the twin storyline gimmick, and it too disappeared in an unsatisfactory manner (come on, why not hire Johnny’s actor for just 5 more episodes for an arc where he realizes Lauren is not over Eric, or JUST SOMETHING?)

- Clarke wormed his way back to FC in late 1997, which had exciting storytelling potential, but then he disappeared almost entirely. Sad to see my favorite character wasted in this manner. Does he get anything interesting to do between now and the Morgan saga of 2000-2001?

- The Thomas saga was entertaining in 1997, but it got stretched out too much, and made some of early 1998 tiresome, with Ridge having to decide YET AGAIN which woman he wants to be with.

On the plus side, I like the plotline of Thorne being neighbors with Macy and Grant, and we’ve finally been introduced to the SORASed Rick/Amber/CJ crowd. The Stephanie/James/Sheila triangle is also starting, and it makes me excited (I remember seeing some if it in my childhood). I know Sheila, Grant, and James are all leaving soon, which I honestly kind of dread - between them and Clarke’s near-absence, it feels like herd is going to get culled too much in the near future. But I know there’s the familiar 1999-2002 to look forward to.

After Season 1 they jumped to Season 25. I queried why but they didn’t reply. They’ve also added the episodes to their on-demand section too (as well as live streaming them)

Oddly, some S25 episodes are the longer 21-22 minute edit used for international distribution, but the majority appear to be the shorter US edit. They also blur out the B&B web-address at the end of the credits which I can’t fathom why. They’re also very diligent in ensuring the ‘BBL Distribution’ slide is cut from the very end too - there’s an abrupt fade out of the music which typically would overlay into the distribution credit.

Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.

    • I watched some of Friday's show. It was sweet to see Julie celebrate her wedding anniversary to Doug (their second - kudos to the writing team for remembering). Those moments with Julie are always so moving to me because you can tell they are straight from Susan's heart.  I know Patsy Pease hasn't been on DAYS in 15 years, but I still miss Kim in weeks that are so important for the Bradys and their history on the show. Michael Dietz was always a very likeable presence onscreen, even if he was never the greatest actor. That hasn't changed.  I was impressed with how well put together the montage was of John's various identities/memories. A number of those stories were ludicrous, and several of them never should have existed, but the way this was all crafted you could see just what a unique character all those parts made John...and how much Drake played the material as best he could, no matter what. The mirror scene was a great inclusion as that really wrapped everything of John together - viewers never truly knew who he was, nor did the people in Salem, but it didn't matter, as everyone loved him anyway.
    • Been a long time, but always worth the wait!  1973 will be coming soon!  Hooray!!

    • Thanks @Paul Raven  Amidst these terrible stories I see we get the arrival of Heather. I never knew Alice forged references for her. No wonder she later became a murderer. She was a criminal all along.  The Jeff/Monica/Rick story always seems so brazen and so depressing all at once - I can't imagine how people would have talked about it in the Internet/Twitter era.  I don't understand the choice to put Audrey and Steve through even more misery after they had been separated for almost a decade. The sudden inclusion of magazine stories is fascinating...and I'm not sure if it is ever a huge story narrative for GH after this point, even when characters on the show ran magazines. The end of the Leslie and Cam story did not need to be like this (and feels a little rushed). Had every woman on the canvas at this time been raped?
    • I am bewildered and fascinated by the choice to have John Loprieno and Adam Storke play out all their dramatic sequences here in clown makeup. They really took that circus motif seriously.

    • Does anyone have a favorite adult Russ Matthews?  Which actor did you like most?  Sam Groom, Robert Hover, or David Bailey??  And why?   And if Russ had returned late in AW's run, what actor would you have wanted to portray him?  One of the former actors, or someone new??
    • I think the move to NBC dealt a huge blow to SFT that caused the show to slowly bleed out throughout their almost five year run on that network. SFT was a CBS show and it really showed when it first started airing on NBC so I understood P &G having to make adjustments to the soap in order to make it fit onto the NBC schedule vs the CBS schedule. The 1983 Tomlin/Lee era was probably the strongest while it was on NBC.  They managed to still focus on Stu/Stephanie/Jo while developing a strong youth focus with Wendy/Warren/Suzi/Kristen/ Brian with the comic element with Rhonda Sue and her partner.  This helped the show from staying the Liza/Travis show.. which it was in 1981/1982.
