I've had trouble with that CBS channel when wanting to find something too. One hint or advice - maybe you can try putting the entire channel as playlist in Jdownloader2 - a free youtube channel/playlist software. It will check absolutely every video from the channel... even if they are thousands... then you can use the program's search engine to find which files to download. I've done it before and it works.

I’ve been binging on the fall 1995 episodes over the past few days in the vault.

Enjoying it surprisingly much, considering how many here have called the second half of 95 bad or boring. Certainly better than almost any of 1994. Not a fan of whatever is developing between Taylor and Eric (why can’t the thing with James and Taylor lead anywhere instead?), but the Maggie/Dylan/Jessica triangle is actually kind of compelling, lack of follow-through aside (I understand it isn’t revisited after the post-diabetes breakup?). Jessica is still as boring as always, but Dylan & Maggie have amazing chemistry. I liked the scenes where Stephanie chewed them out after finding out about their affair. Nice to see Mike Guthrie back too.

Very little of the above is truly amazing, but I absolutely LOVE the storyline about Rick’s anger towards Ridge, his demands for Brooke to be reunited with Eric, and the rivalry with CJ. I especially liked the scene in the latest episode I watched, where he marches into Connor’s office and asks for legal advice on how to move in with his dad

Since I’ve seen you express 94-98 as being worse than the surrounding periods, what are your top 5 (or even 10) storylines from said period?

Regarding 95, I actually found Sheila’s exit storyline to be a bit of a dud. I did see bits and pieces of it as a kid (before regularly watching from the 1998 episodes onwards), and certain received consensus had created almost mythological expectations about it, but it largely failed to click. The fatal flaw is how the Eric/Sheila relationship storyline was sidelined in favor of the James kidnapping thing. Since the storyline was up to then about Sheila keeping her past secret from Eric, it felt anticlimactic to not have her past revealed in the context of that marriage, with epic confrontation scenes between the two and the like. Instead, Eric breaks up with her over strong suspicion that she’s hiding just something, and Sheila gets moved into this new storyline where it all comes out.
One wonders if it might have worked better if the story had her kidnap Eric instead, upon her realizing she can’t prevent him from leaving. Might have had interesting effects on the businness storyline too. I did think some individual moments were strong, like the goodbye party episodes where she held the family at gunpoint, but some other stuff was really weak (why does Eric insist Lauren should tell James about Sheila’s past but not him, and why are the police too dumb to figure out Mike’s hiding Sheila?)

The Anthony storyline was much better, other than Thorne’s family frequently forgetting he’s imprisoned, and certain dumb moments like the jailbreak. Anthony’s a fun diabolical villain. Taylor’s return story even became interesting once her identity was revealed to the other characters, and the trial was held to determine who Ridge’s married to (less said about the Morocco crap in 1994, which was AWFUL)

That's a good question. Top 5 storylines... from this period.

1. Brooke invents the Bedroom line throwing Forrester into chaos.

2. Sheila's exit storyline - shooting Stephanie - one of the best showdowns in the show's history. And the build up to it was also GREAT.

3.Amber arrives in town and is a breath of fresh air for couple of months. Sneaks her way into Rick's life and turns into Brooke's biggest nightmare.

4. Sheila poisons Stephanie with mercury pills - Stephanie slowly goes mad.

5. Lauren hooks up with soon to be married to Stephanie Eric. Destroys Stephanie's wedding.

    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
    • Nicole is way too smart to not know she was carrying twins - she's a doctor! My guess is that Leslie did abort her baby out of fear, and as payback, stole Ted and Nicole's child (Eva), and stole Kat from another family to replace her in the hospital.
    • Those Soap Central profiles have a lot of incorrect info. According to SOD summaries and the Daytime Newsletter of the time,Tim left town for a new job and Pam reunited with the father of her baby and also departed Springfield. They did not marry.
