Another interview with Freddie Smith

Mentioned that the part changed. Wonder how? Like was the character originally not supposed to Sonny Kiriakis or was his character Sonny all along, but not originally supposed to be gay?

Also curious he denies knowing that his love interest is Chandler Massey's Will...

So the coyness continues. Either that or this guy honestly doesn't know who he'll be kissing. I'll laugh my ass off if Sonny goes after Chad instead of Will. That'll certainly represent the "bait and switch" that I've been talking about and that would give Abby plenty to cry about. Her own cousin who's gay wants to get into her boyfriend's pants. The question is, would a possibly closeted Chad let him? But don't count Will out either. He's closeted too and is witnessing Sonny go after the man that he spent having all of that "eyesex" with almost 2 years ago. Will remembers his crush on Chad and is secretly seething watching Sonny go after him (it could be why we see them pictured together with Chad in the middle of both boys). Obviously, I'm just rambling people. LOL. I know it ain't gonna happen this way. But I would tip my hat to TPTB if they so much as DARED to have not one, not two, but three gay young men: One of them out of the closet while the other two are still in it. YOWZA!

And here are interviews with Judi and Wally. They say, Sonn'ys parents already know, but other members of the family don't, like Victor. Also says Sonny isn't going to be involved with a newbee, but another core character on the show *cough Will *cough*

It makes no sense to hear one actor saying he doesn't know anything while another one spills the beans. I thought they'd all be on the same page. Bottomline: They're going to have to work extra hard to make the audience embrace "Silly." I can't wait to see how they do it.

yeah, weird you have some people like Freddie being all closed lipped about it, then you have Wally and Camila giving us all these details. Anyone else get the impression that Camila thinks Gabi might not be around long?

It's strange and even annoying to get information from players not directly involved in the story but get nothing but zipped lips from the presumed players themselves. I would think TPTB would've informed the actress who plays Gabi not to say anything as well, so why did she run her mouth? And even more strange, I don't get the impression that Gabi is going anywhere despite having a presumably gay boyfriend. I think this could actually be fun once ALL revelations have come to the surface.

Tomorrow is Sonny's big debut and first impressions are all that I need to determine if this dude has the gravitas to hold up. I expect various message boards to be loaded with topics bearing his name and big debut.

    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
