to Amybrickwallace:   The show, I believe, went remote even back as far as Cathy Craig's storyline.    Scenes, unless I am mistaken, were filmed in Odyessy House n New York.

I am Andrea Evans's number one fan.   However, I preferred Karen Witter in the role of Tina.    (I did not care for Krista whatever-her-name-is in the role at all - and I waited six months before I formed my opinion).

Actress Susan Anspach has passed away.   I cannot remember the name of her One Life to Live character, but I seem to recall that she was involved in some way with the character played by Granger Hines.   Can someone tell me who she played?

Did the Paris remotes have the actors speaking on location or were the outside scenes taped without dialogue eg just shots of the characters swanning around Paris? (maybe with voiceovers)

I ask because I always assumed they were full scenes with dialogue but have read that at the time that was extra expense and so they might have been 'beauty' shots only.

The 80's were full of location shoots - about one annually starting in 1984:

Venice, Italy (1984)

Vienna, Austria (1985) - that one featured Jenny, David, Clint & Viki, et al.

Jamaica (1986) - Tina & Cord

Buenos Aries, Argentina (1987) - Tina, Cord, Kate, Maria, Max, Gabrielle

Arizona (1988) - The Old West "Time Travel" story

Austria (1989) - this time doubling as Mendorra

Those remotes - the snowy woods - were shot somewhere in New Jersey IIRC.  There were a few, shorter-term remotes in that era of OLTL - like Alex trying to drown Cassie in the lake, the memorable AIDS Quilt episodes, and Tina's escapade to New York (where she went to get a SO-not-needed-"makeover"-because-let's-face-it-she's-fricken-Karen-Witter).

There's no record of it for her. She was married to Mark Goddard (of the original Lost in Space), who played Ted Clayton on OLTL in 1981 - though they had divorced three years prior to his time on the show. That's the only way I could find, at least so far, on record to connect her to OLTL.

I also found a full cast credit page for an OLTL episode with Grainger Hines as Brian Beckett, from 1984. Unfortunately, she's not on it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2244161/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast

I do remember that Brian worked at Lord-Manning and became a rival against Bo for Didi - I think that's where most of his story centered. He came in the later part of 1984, and was gone by 85 (he never made it to the new opening credits). So his time on the show wasn't too long, if that narrows anything down.

    • This show treats Claire like a glorified extra prop not the granddaughter of the 2 biggest supercouples this show has ever had. I don't think was ever invested in Claire nor writing for her & her connections to majority of the town. What a waste of a legacy character with so much potential
    • Kim Zimmer could have had a nice career as a supporting actress in Hollywood, but that does not appear to be what she wanted. That's fine, but in the eighties, she was not going to have many options as a leading actress. The eighties were brutal for a performer like her.  Her one big film role lasted a minute or two. Even while she was on GL, she should have been doing episodic television. Was her agent that incompetent or was she just bad at auditioning? Her episode of "Designing Women" was quite popular and was discussed at the time for its subject matter, but she never followed up on it. It's bizarre to me.
    • Billy just showed up for Vanessa's memorial (Sept 9, '96), which is so nice!  My first time seeing him like this outside of random clips from the past. He's out of jail for 24 hours, so not long. It's good to see him with the family.
    • Definitely was more recent than not; when the set originally returned, the change hadn't happened.
    • It was nice seeing Victorias house and I see it’s been remodelled. I’m sure this happened awhile ago but since I tuned out from the show for so long I am only noticing it now. Looks beautiful though!  Also, Billy and Sally gross me out so much. I don’t know what it is I hate so much about them. They give me the ick. Definitely a mismatch. I don’t buy that these people would be attracted to eachother in real life much less have a relationship..

    • Also, isn’t there supposed to be a storyline with Mariah and Tessa? Mariah cheating or something (keeping some kind of secret) and they were only on screen 2 and 3 times this month. Like what? How am I supposed to care when I barely see them?
    • Definitely wouldn't trust Dinah right now haha.  But that's great to know Billy comes back soon!  I'm excited for that. If he's at the boardinghouse, then I guess he does get closer to Nola perhaps, and then he'll be around Peter/Bridget and J, who is currently in his orbit along with Michelle and Dahlia, and Marcus is at the boardinghouse, so maybe they go the teenage story route most of this time until Billy gets back.
    • Sounds like me, but I prefer to be referred to as Contessa. We all know I can go a long time not paying attention to certain things.  And, if I might add, hey there dude, you effed up pretty good this time and I think this was your last chance. So don't let the door hit you in your behind as you go BYE MOMMY!
    • That did cross my mind at first, but I'd be more inclined to believe it if this didn't involve Trump. I'm not at all sure he is capable of being that sneaky. Of course, there's always a possibility I guess that his advisors are doing it without telling him, but that seems awfully risky. Trump is such a loose cannon you can never predict what he's going to do or say.
