Someone uploaded a chunk of Karen/Larry footage from what must be some time in 1981. I put it in the Videobash section. It's so nice to get to see more of Karen! I also don't understand why the show gave up on Larry as a leading man.

This is also the first time I've seen this Anna Wolek (I think it's Phyllis Behar). Kind of drab.

Did Joann Dorian ever play any major stories with Vicki? I know for a while after Gillian left it seemed Vicki was backburnered (though I believe very very early in Erika's run she had the whole gaslighting storyline with Francesca James as Marcie).

In the OLTL tribute magazine Erika seems to imply she tried hard to get Larry back for the finale--I wonder if they ever considered it. I guess he was just seen as eventually too much of a nice guy, and was aging, to be leading man, but really they shouldhave worked harder to move him into more a patriarch position then.

Megan and Max share memories in the hospital as she's dying of Lupus. You can tell here how much Gabrielle's betrayal (cheating on him during their marriage) hurt him, and of course he's trying to deny that he loved her by saying he was "addicted to her."

He really didn't mention her much when she was in prison, did he? The Max & Megan stuff, I'll admit, is pretty good, but not to take away from another intelligent blonde or anything wink.pngtongue.pnglaugh.png , but I just don't know if I can let myself enjoy their scenes more over Max/Gabby's TOO much!

I'd never seen that. Thanks for finding it. So he dropped OLTL in 1990...another fan who seemed to be driven away by that year.

Actually Jessica wasn't really "aged rapidly" at all, compared to other characters. That's one of the only kind things I can say about the show's treatment of that character.

It came up when I was looking for an opera singer with the last name Valentini actually... Very random.

And yeah--I can totally see why a number of people, especially who had been sucked in by the Rauch era, fled in 1990, as we've discussed. Of course he also says he started watching in school and it sounds like, like many, he stopped when school and college were done and work started.

He said he stopped because of Andrea Evans leaving and then repeatedly said he asked for her to be brought back in 2008. I hope he enjoyed her 2011 return more than that 2008...thing.

It seems like OLTL had little going for it anywhere in 1990, and if you weren't a specific fan of say, Gabrielle, Bo, Viki, or Megan, then you probably weren't going to watch.

    • yes. today Monday's episode started with words displayed "part 1" and ended with "to be continued"
    • I find Missy Reeve's views offensive and I don't want to defend her, but I don't think she ever said anything publicly about Days "gay content".   In fact, I don't think she's ever said anything negative about Days at all.  There's no indication Missy is difficult or unprofessional on set-except for the whole affair thing years ago lol-but that's a whole different topic. I can dislike Missy as a person and still think she's the perfect fit for Jen.  Cady tried and it didn't work for me.  Whenever Missy steps into the role it works.  It's a two things can be true situation.  Missy has some bad opinions, but she's great at playing Jennifer.
    • Doesn't the funeral go into Tuesday
    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?
    • This is the coldest early June in my life. It's like it's January.
