Members janea4old
I watched OLTL early years, but missed most of 1990s OLTL, so the recent posts on this thread are interesting to read. I didn't know anything at all about Christopher Cousins' OLTL character and aliases... until reading a little bit last year. Christopher Cousins debuted on Y&R in 2024... as Ashley Abbott's platonic friend from Paris -- the retired psychologist "Alan Laurent"... and his evil twin "Martin Laurent". (Alan eventually became Traci Abbott's boyfriend and I think he still recurs as such). When the Alan/Martin characters debuted on Y&R, I read up on Christopher Cousins' character and aliases on OLTL. wow. crazy. I had to read the archive.org of soapcentral's OLTL site to find bios of Cousins' character and the Llanview characters he interacted with. And other wikis. It took a while to sort it all out. Especially since he seems to have returned a few times under various aliases. It's hard to understand the convoluted mess from reading summaries and wikis. After reading all that, I see why Cousins was cast on OLTL. At first I thought Alan Laurent was scamming Ashley and wasn't who he appeared to be. Well he was but then it was revealed that some of it was his evil twin Martin. Seems like Josh Griffith threw it together somewhat haphazardly for Y&R. re: OLTL: It annoyed me to read that Tina was hoodwinked (catfished? scammed?) by this guy. The Tina Lord I remember was vulnerable at times, but she was also smart, I think? I don't know. I was going to ask here, but then, maybe the character is not worth me investing time/energy/reading about. Members Vee
Tina outwitted Cain in summer '91. Later, the character returned and they got involved after Cord 'died' in Jaba City in the fall.
Members janea4old
too late to edit my typo. re: the bolded ... I meant to say, after reading all the info about Cousins' OLTL character with aliases, I can see why Cousins was cast on Y&R as the suspicious character who turned out to be actually two twins, with the evil one masquerading as the good one to manipulate the situation.

Members SFK
Yeah, this clip (I believe they showed it in a montage at OLTL's cancellation "party") is from an episode that is available to watch at the Paley Center. I viewed it several years ago when I was still living in New York. I'm fuzzy on the details, but Meredith had gone missing from the hospital. I'm not sure if it's still on YT, but there's audio of Gillian Spencer as Niki out there and it's a gem. Her Niki has a New Yorkese accent and she sort of punches her lines liķe Bugs Bunny.
Members Khan
Ironically, I think Gillian Spencer's Niki sounds more like what Erika Slezak's Niki became in the '90's and '00's, just without the tendency to kill, lol.
Members janea4old
That's the Niki Smith I knew. I started watching in 1969 so Gillian Spencer was my Viki/Niki. Yeah her Niki sounded more like someone who spoke like a working class person from a city. Gillian Spencer's Niki fit well with Antony Ponzini's Vince. In contrast, Gillian Spencer's Victoria Lord sounded elegant (as did Erika Slezak's Victoria).

Members Paul Raven
Good to know. And I'm sure whatever money Robin poured into that place she has made back and then some.
