What's with Nouri and the duck? Just a reflection of Caleb's rural hunter thing?

Either that, or the guy taking the photos was afraid Nouri alone would bore the hell out of readers.

I guess La Lucci was having none of these goofy shots?

Nah, she was all about being glam. ;) Can you picture Susan Lucci making goofy faces at the camera? Sadly, I can't, but I would have loved to see the result if she had.

Actually, Tim was the match. Brooke only went looking for Maureen Gorman as a back-up in case something didn't work out - she remembered that Laura's initial donor turned out to have cancer, and therefore, wasn't a viable donor. It was only after Brooke discovered the "Wildwind" drawing that Brooke suspected that Maureen Gorman might actually be Maria Santos.

Thanks!

I love that you're a walking AMC encyclopedia.

I HATED Maureen Gorman. The character was a real turn off and while I initially tried to get back into AMC to see Eva La Rue return as Maria; that Maureen creature caused me to drop back out

I actually preferred Maureen, mostly because I thought Maria was kind of a fake bitch. But then even when Maria became Maria again she wasn't exactly her old self. Too bad they wasted this on the crazy Edmund stories instead of just having her fight it out with the other bitches of Pine Valley.

Yeah my main complaint with the Maureen mess was what it did to Edmund (initially under Rayfield I believe). Locking hi wife up, trying to drug her (or did he?) etc...

I forgot abotu Bermuda and those ridiculous terrorists.

The whole story was a mess. Honestly there was no great reason to even bring her back. It's not as if she'd ever been a ratings draw, or had much story left to tell.

At the time I was so annoyed by most of AMC in early 2003 that the Maureen/Aidan stuff didn't bother me.

ABCD had a real hard on for Eva LaRue, and believed her Q rating would be equivalent to a ratings bonanza. The story was a mess from beginning to end because they had to try real hard to make Brooke the villain in the piece, which is hard to do when the actress in question was so good and the history of the character, still made the audience want to root for Brooke. They then destroyed Edmund several times over (reverting back to his self-destructive behavior from 10 years prior), and made sure that he wasn't sexually viable throughout most of Edmund and Maria's reunion, and then brought on TK's Zach as the sexual stud (even through were where originally lead to believe that Maureen lived as a nun during her time on the run).

I actually liked Maureen more than Maria (way less whiny). It was also realistic that she wouldn't just morph back to Maria, but be more of a blend - Maureenia. However, when ELR decided to leave instead of giving the fans a "walk off into the sunset" ending for Edmund and Maria - they killed off the veteran character, let Brooke, sort of, have the last laugh, and then just had Maria move on... all around, not worth it.

I think the first time I ever saw her acting real silly was at the end of the AMC 25th anniversary special when she put on the wig and was impersonating Carol Burnett doing the Tarzan call, like Carol impersonated her during the show ("tonight the role of Erica will be played by Carol Burnett...")

All of those closeups, I just want to kiss Susan's nude lips. wub.png #beendrinking

Bates and I had the same acting teacher. I of course am not an Academy Award winner.

Mrs. Blye? This was before Judy Blye-Wilson was on the show, coincidence maybe?

Erica is Belle's bitch.

They should have made Belle Jane.

"It's not gonna be near the comics is it, or the horoscope, that's all Belle reads." If you ever doubted Susan's special brand of acting genius, look no further than how she delivered that line!

People were saying "freaking" back then? I thought that was pure early '90s.

I'm watching 39/40 of Erica fest and I am so tickled by Erica with Jenny and Palmer. Can't wipe the smile off my face watching her.

Where is Jill Larson living these days? Watching Dorothy Lyman as Opal in some of these Erica clips. How fun if she and Jill shared the role per arc in PP AMC 2.0. Dorothy has a farm in CT iirc.

One of my earliest AMC memories, must have been around '83, was DL's Opal hurling dinner plates at Ray. Wish I could see that scene again. This was around the same time Langley had fantasies of murdering Phoebe. unsure.png

I guess Erica went on the run at one point and wore glasses and dressed down, the convent and all. This was after Silver left and as a kid I interpreted this as Erica grieving over Silver and now dressing as her.
