Yes, although I have to say I'm kinda glad we're getting a Martin episode this week--I've actually (largely) liked Tad and Jake (wow) under Broderick's current last few months. Actually I thought Tad was relatively well handled under K&S (Jake was just annoying though)--his interaction with Damon especially, even if they ruined that with the lack of Hillary. But I certainly know where you're coming from.

I think it's been mixed in recent years, but I meant more in the late 90's - well, Jake as soon as the awful Lowry fell out of that damn tree, and then Tad a few years later. It used to drive me away from the show for periods of time. That was also when the whole Adam Chandler evil father stuff started kicking up, which I thought was too obvious.

As far as Erica in New York...she was definitely living in the Chandler mansion by the fall of 1984, when Adam faked his death to see how she'd react but then was kidnapped by Billy Clyde. She probably still had her New York apartment, but IDK when/if she ever went back to living there full time.

Oddly enough, I watched an episode today where she and Mark threw a party at the NY apartment, and none of the guests were from Pine Valley. I'll bet you a hundred bucks they really mulled over whether or not they could spin Erica off into her own show then. So glad they didn't.

James Mitchell really was a dance legend, something that actually seems somehwat forgotten. Agnes DeMille (who infamously choreographed the groundbreaking Oklahoma ballet as well as the ballet for Bloomer Girl and other shows he was in) called him the best male dancer she had ever worked with--and actually tried to romance and marry him a number of times. I uploaded this to youtube, but they removed the music, cry

Yeah the early Chandler stuff was quite gothic (I wonder when Adam gave up on his love for Asian sculptures...). OK refresh my memory, who was Phillip Peter...

Agnes seemed to have a somewhat secret love of the gothic, it's never really mentioned when people talk about her work. And for Rebecca style sinister housekeepers--Helga, Joanna, Myra--who of course turned out to not be so sinister...

Wonderful photos. They make Paint Your Wagon sound very dirty.

I love that cheesy photo of him in the Western. Couldn't get away with that now...

I didn't know he was in the Turning Point.

I'd never seen that Where the Heart Is photo before. Robyn Millan looks like an alien and Diana Walker seems terrified. Diana van der Vlis is like "What the hell is this?"

Too bad they didn't put a photo of him on the show - there's one with his siblings.

    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
    • Agreed. The Emmys next year are gonna be a pretty tough competition and I hope we get a Days sweep lol  Not only does Deidre deserve a nomination for these last few weeks, but I also think Paul Telfer, Raven Bowens, Carson Boatman, Dan Feuerriegel and Alison Sweeney have good chances as well.
