April 19, 201114 yr Member The good thing about soaps in those days, you knew that if it sucked and sucked for a good while, changes would eventually be made. Now? No one gives two sh!ts and that has been the attitude for a good deacde. Exactly and if that story stunk the other 2 or 3 stories going on as well were good.
April 19, 201114 yr Member Writers need firm GOOD visionary EPs. Frons took that away. And replaced them with a lobotomized JFP, a quasi-hunky FV w/ a "thing" for young, hairless men, and a JHC who probably has trouble balancing her checkbook, let alone AMC's. Edited April 19, 201114 yr by Khan

April 19, 201114 yr Member I was in a music class, and the television was in the room so we watched some Eterna. That was hilarious to see people's reactions. I saw Casey the alien as it aired.
April 19, 201114 yr Member Now the Hoover News is on MSNBC.com: http://theclicker.today.com/_news/2011/04/18/6492909-hoover-sides-with-soap-opera-fans ABC's quote to Logan, sounds like they are bit caught off gaurd. "Counterproductive" is the best response they have? No matter what happens, this isn't counterproductive for Hoover, they are getting a ton of FREE publicity & a bunch a crazied soap fans are out buying new vacuums. Plus, ABC will find someone to fill Hoover's spot. Unless it's a show that's so offensive, there's always another company willing to advertise. The key is, what if 7, 8 more major companies pull their ads? Then I think you're going to have something more major. Put if this will catch on, remains to be seen. Even though I don't think ABC will change it's mind, I still think it's pretty cool that less than a week after ABC made the announcement, someone was able to convince a major company to pulls it's ads. Watching JFP stripped of all power at GH has been somewhat entertaining to us bitter OLTL fans. Except I am a GH fan too and then it still sucks.

April 19, 201114 yr Member Has this already been posted? Digest spoke to OLTL's Robin Strasser (Dorian) today and here's what she had to say: "I've only been on Twitter for 32 hours and I'm nearing 3,000 followers so the service is now properly scared of what will happen! I was forced to make myself learn how to use Twitter. I just had blood in my eyes.... When Brian Frons makes this size decision, he shoots down thousands of New York City jobs.... If I were thanking anyone, I'd be sure to put Frank Valentini [Executive Producer] up there because he saved money, brought us in under budget and raised the standards of our production. If you're gonna thank anyone, I would be thanking Frank Valentini. That is who deserves the credit. [brian Frons] is bullying hundreds of employees and he's destroying the lives and livelihood of families. Additionally, by dissing and disrespecting the audiences that love us, he puts himself in peril. I know the people who care about the audience. I know about people whose integrity is unquestioned — Erika Slezak [Viki] is chief among them and Frank Valentini.... You cannot proudly present a new endeavor when you have spit on the audience. You cannot. They will bite you back, and don't you love it about them?" http://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/robin-strasser-speaks-out If so, I'll delete

April 19, 201114 yr Member I wish she would have been that vocal about GL and ATWT during their final days. Why would she though? She has no vested interests in those shows. It doesn't hit you until you're a part of it, which is what is happening to Strasser.

April 19, 201114 yr Member I'm nearing 3,000 followers so the service is now properly scared of what will happen! After Charlie Sheen and his million-plus "disciples"? Doubt it. If I were thanking anyone, I'd be sure to put Frank Valentini [Executive Producer] up there because he saved money, brought us in under budget and raised the standards of our production. Well, that's easy to do when you have most of the men on your show go practically naked for episodes at a time. "You cannot proudly present a new endeavor when you have spit on the audience. You cannot. They will bite you back, and don't you love it about them?" That should be our new slogan: "Welcome to the fans of ABC Daytime - we'll bite a bitch!" Edited April 19, 201114 yr by Khan
