Watched all of Season 1 in a day and a half (less really, but I can't be bothered to figure out the exact hours lol). That is a record for me.

This show mixes spy thriller tension with dark, psychological drama with soapy elements and a mystery plot and I loved every single second. Lewis and Daines are absolutely amazing in their performances. Just started Season 2 and the first episode was great as well. I have no idea why I waited this long to start.

OMG! biggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png Yes. Um...you hate Dana, right?

The stuff they shot in Lebanon for those first few eps of season 2 was spectacular. Just breathtaking. I still watch & will never forget the scenes with Carrie escaping from all the Lebanese people/authorities coming after her.

What a fantastic show. I'm salivating for season 3. Hope it doesn't disappoint!

:D Ahahaha... I actually don't.... unsure.png:lol: I've never had an issue with mouthy teenagers on shows and I have found all her behavior understandable under the circumstances. The actress is not bad either. But she's far from being a favorite.

OMG the Lebanon stuff was incredibly tense. And then when Carrie finds out she was right all along... absolutely amazing. Her performance there was at the same time what I had hoped for/expected and totally different.

I'm here for mouthy teenagers and the angst they bring on TV but I can't with Dana. My problem with her is mainly that tick laden Actress. You really think she's not that bad? I mean a LOT of people can't stand her tongue.png

HAHAHAHA I totally get why people don't like her. I just don't happen to be as annoyed as others (although I do agree that you gotta explore to find any variations in her acting). Which is great, because I bet she would be insufferable.

Brody getting arrested so soon! I love that the show takes your expectations that it will drag things out and throws them out the window. Nobody expected Brody and Carrie's first confrontation to come on episode 7 or for the truth to come out so soon. Which kind of shakes things up fantastically (as long as they can find another main plotline now that Brody's true nature has been exposed). And Lewis and Daines have such amazing chemistry.

Just finished Season 2. WOW. What an amazing finale episode.

This are exactly my thoughts:

Wow! What a season finale! Even after his death, Nazir got his wish of having a mass murder on American soil - which was the season's big plot. I thought the attack wouldn't happened since they Nazir was caught. So the supposed attack at the Army base on the troops and their family was just part of his mind games and not the real target. The real target was killing the Vice President and then eventually everyone at his funeral which happened CIA headquarters.

What an amazing set of sequences: the scenes cutting back and forth between Brody/Carrie, David Estes giving a eulogy, Nazir's body being prepared for sea burial, and just as the explosion goes off, Nazir's body is dumped into the ocean. Then as Carrie comes too, she immediately thinks Brody caused the explosion and pulls a gun on him. Man, I was on the edge of seat. So much suspense, so much tension.

I loved how Brody's confession tape came back into play, that Nazir's terrorist group double crossed Brody and used him/framed him for the explosion. Of course there's also the question of if Brody was really responsible for the explosion and he did finally go through with his plan from season 1. I personally don't believe Brody was in on explosion.

What a visual moment to see all those 200+ wrapped up dead bodies laying side by side, row by row, and then Saul saying a prayer.

I love this show! I would not be surprised if the show won Best Drama at the Emmys again, along with Claire Daines and Damien Lewis winning the Lead Actor/Actress category.

I started watching this show a few weeks ago, instantly got addicted & then rapidly watched both seasons just so I could get to watch the finale in time. Overall, best TV drama ever IMO! Just noticed the thread here!

While the season 2 finale was filled with lots of tension and drama, I was not happy w/how things ended! Ugh! I was hoping it would be revealed that Brody still was a terrorist & he weaseled his way into escaping after the explosion. I don't like how things seem to be shaping up for season 3. If It's going to be all about Carrie & Brody's love story, and Carrie trying to track Brody and keep him safe on the down low or w/e, I'll find that really disappointing. Thank GOD she decided not to go on the run with him.

I'm hoping there's still a chance Brody is a terrorist. Remember when he lied to Carrie that nothing else happened while he was kidnapped by Nazier? (When something totally did: we saw a flashback of him & Nazier praying together). I really hope thats referenced back to in the next reason. I need for it to be revealed that Brody duped Carrie again. LOL.

But there's so much I love about this show though. Some memorable scenes for me. Actually, more like sequences:

The best damn sequence on this show for me will always be the suicide bomb/suitcase disaster. The lead up to that was PERFECT! I did not see that mess coming! I loved the buildup to it happening & I was just in total shock afterwards. What a flawlessly executed/edited moment.

The aftermath of the drone attack when Brody was pacing through the wreckage looking for Issa.

Walker shooting at the white house. Just that little moment where the camera was focused on him aiming the gun and there was this subtle ringing sound playing lowly in the background then suddenly everything went silent; My heart was pounding SO freaking hard & then BOOM! Liz Gaines gets assassinated instead & all hell breaks loose.

When Carrie was trying to escape from the Lebanese policeman that was following her. I loved how she changed her scarf and ended up getting away w/a smiley smirk on her face. LOL. Also the scenes in Beirut where she was running from the Lebanese thugs after she rummaged through that apartment. OMG! FREAKING INTENSE.

Brody and the tailor guy's scenes when they were headed for the safe house. I was done after Brody killed him. I had to take a break after that gruesome mess. LOL

All those were great scenes! Although I have to point out that the show always seems to do something completely different than what we think it will... so I doubt it's going to be all about Carrie and Brody's love story. Although I do think it's a great idea that she will be trying to exonerate him and thus take us into another arc/terrorist.

Saul's look when he saw Carrie alive at the end brought me to tears. Amazing!

SO many possibilities for Season 3. I just can't wait.

Glad to see a new viewer! This show is so amazing. The first episode of season 3 already leaked online (on torrents), but I'm not going to watch it - don't want to wait another 4 weeks for the next episode. So for those who decide to watch it, please use spoiler tags if you're going to discuss episode 31 since it hasn't aired on TV yet.

HOMELAND is back, baby! And they always surprise you.

I like the whole direction they went with Dana's suicide, bringing her grandmother into the picture, the new boyfriend and the naked pics. I have a feeling that may come back to haunt her soon.

There's trouble brewing if Carrie's off her meds again. I really like her relationship with her father, and how he always keeps an eye on her.

It's very nice that they're using last episode's bombing to bring into question all of the CIA's existence. I guess the stuff with Peter was a good way to add some action to the episode.

And Saul betraying Carrie like that!

No Brody, though. :( I was hoping for his brand of hotness.

That premiere was boring. Dana & her twiddling fingers are worse than ever; not looking forward to her story at all unless she dies in the middle of it. YUCK!

Hope this was just a warm up episode & they bring it the next 11!

Another dangerously boring episode tonight. The f-ck is this?! WHAT happened? Who wants to watch Dana's Land? Don't they know everyone despises Dana, 'cept for YRBB? SICK of this little girl and her crabby face

SO DISAPPOINTED STILL! Claire Danes has been fantastic though, as usual. Hating Saul & I still have no use for Quinn

I agree that the first two episodes have been lackluster mainly because of Dana's storyline. Her storyline last season sucked too. Why are they focusing on her so much? The kids should have a minor role, like Walt Jr on Breaking Bad. The only good part so far were the scenes when the CIA took out those 6 terrorists. The show is called Homeland, so where's the threat? The danger?

I disagree with both of you  Except for the fact that there's less action. We haven't gotten anything as charged as Carrie being chased through the building.

I'm loving Dana! :D Her stories and development make absolute sense to me.

I think Saul is compromised. He's caught between his love for Carrie and what he needs to do to save the CIA. I'm angry at him but I get it.

And I have a feeling Quinn is here to stay. (of course, on a show like this, they could always kill him off)

The kid storylines are never going to stop. The PTB have made it clear that they want to show the effect of Brody and his mess on his family, so I doubt they will ever not focus on Dana. And I'm sure the son will get more material once he gets older. It's never been a show only about the action and I kinda love it for that.

And I think the threat, while subtle, is clear. Not only is the CIA in imminent danger, we've already seen the search for Javadi (I think?) start and I have a feeling it will build. In many ways, the show has to reboot following the reveal on Brody and the taking down of Nazir. I don't mind giving them the time to do so.

Episode 3 was very interesting. Glad to see Brody back, although I was a little pissed off when it initially seemed the whole episode was going to be about Brody. So, it was a very pleasant surprise when my Carrie popped up again.

I thought the episode did a very good job of mirroring the loneliness, confinement, desperation and sadness that both Brody and Carrie are feeling. They may be thousand of miles apart but they're going through the same thing, even down to the "medication" they both desire at the end (lithium for Carrie, heroin for Brody). Interested to see how they get out of their respective messes.

It's nice to see Robert Newman has a small part on the show. Lot's of former soapers have shown up on Homeland.

I thought last week was flawless. The hate from some critics astonishes me.

Last week was flawless as a stand alone episode (especially if you didn't think the parallels drawn between Brody and Carrie were heavyhanded).

But in the context of this season, we're a quarter down and nothing has happened.
