TFP, sheilaforever! Interesting! I love reading stuff like this. Looks like this is a trial run for her so far, from looking at that comment she posted on the bottom of the page. I thought she did a pretty good job, particularly with the Thomas/Stephanie scenes, which I HATED, but they were very well done writing wise to me, especially the last part ;-P.

Or you liked Kay Alden's editing touch, depending on how much her script was really edited. She admits in another blog post that her script was far too lengthy and quite some stuff was reworded. I give the B&B folks for giving different writers a trial shot every once in a while.

Judy, the promo lady at DAYS, posted on Twitter that the new writers are rewriting 17 episodes.

Summer Preview canceled...holiday weekend back on.

Also on Twitter, Jill Lorie Hurst posted that Nancy Williams Watt is joining the DAYS writing team. Any info on that at all, Toups? Is she joining as a a SW or BDW or what? ;-)

Nancy Williams Watt was a great SW and script editor when she was at GL.

I can't speak for her Passions work, as the dialogue on that show was inane sh!t no matter who wrote it, but Nancy Williams Watt was a very talented woman during her peak years at GL.

I agree with you Alvin. Loved her work on GL. Passions always was non soap to me...a joke really...sorry Passion fans.

Marlene and Darrell are sure shaking things up! I suspect there might be more Friend of Reilly's joining.

How was Passions a non-soap, Ron?

I don't know. I just never took it seriously as a soap. To me it was a totally different animal.

I couldn't believe how bad Pete T. Rich & Nancy Williams Watt were on there yet they were superb on GL.

Well as someone who watched beginning to end, it was very much a soap opera. In addition to all the craziness, it had all the classic soap opera themes and story types.

They were good on Passions too when they got the chance. The comedy writing was brilliant for characters like Julian and Rebecca. You also have to remember that Jim Reilly had his own style for dialogue - where repetition, recapping, and soliloquies played a big part in the show's dialogue.

I wouldn't be surprised if Pete Rich joined DAYS too, or Maralyn Thoma, Peggi Schibi, Shawn Morrison, N. Gail Lawrence, etc - assuming they're not retired.

N. Gail Lawerence was also on GL. Did Reilly bring them to Passions or was that someone elses doing??

Yeah, it was Reilly. The Passions team was made up of writers who worked with him at GL (Nancy Williams Watt, Roger Newman, Pete T. Rich, N. Gail Lawrence) and DAYS (Marlene Clark Poulter, Darrell Ray Thomas, Jr., Shawn Morrison, Ethel & Mel Brez) or both shows (Peggy Schibi).

I'd still love to know what "drama" led to Dena's ousting.
