Agreed. If someone doesn't like a character, they'll claim if anyone else on the show says anything positive abotu that character that they're being propped up--who cares if it makes sense for that character to like the other, etc, etc.

That said, I do understadn the frustration when it's obvious a character is being shoved in our faces in a way to try to get us to respond to a character in a way we don't want to. But yes, the word is far overused...

Right, I forgot Marty was abandoned by her parents in La Boulaie (though she didn't call it that ;) ) back in the day.

I dunno, I think Clint sees Inez as a mark. He does find her attractive, but also exceedingly vulnerable and someone who getting at will annoy Bo. Inez is a stupid character though  She's meant to have been strong enough to leave a crazy ass abusive husband, raised a son on her own, etc, etc, then why all of a sudden does she seem COMPLETELY dependant on men??

LOL I'm kinda in the minority--I think US soaps need to have more people of varying body types, and especially with the older actors the weight comments do kinda bug me. Don't get me wrong--I like my hot, fit people on soaps as much as anyone, but I wouldn't mind if they went *slightly* the way of the UK soaps with a few more people who looked kinda like someone you might see in your daily life. To an extent ;) (Which is prob why I found Jacob Young oddly kinda hot on AMC when he was chunky for a while there, lol).

As for Tina, besides being plot point that AE was leaving, she and Viki share a very complex history together. Tina's more a shallow, selfish, GREEDY TWIT versus being driven by dark demons.

Let's remember Viki didn't forgive Todd in 24 hours either. She let Todd stew in jail and didn't rush to his side. She later told Tea he was a lost cause. It was only after Tea told her about his suicide attempt that Viki softened and went to see him. He then apologized for how he hurt Viki and Jess.

The real issue is that Viki will ALWAYS forgive Todd because she sees him as so damaged, and so driven by many of her own demons. Until Jessica's DID, he was the "child" that most related to her own damaged psyche.

I laughed at her calling Charlie "Chuckles."

Never saw her on GL, but I don't find her that fat for all the jokes about her. She seems a big earthy female character, larger than life with high energy in the short scene. My only fear she's another David who isolates Viki into silly comedic crap.
