What are some of the extreme liberal agendas?

Hopefully, the GOP primary voters will learn their lesson and realize they need to nominate a mainsteam candidate for president in 2012, because the number one priorty is to defeat Obama.

I wish there was someone like Senator Arnold Vinick. He was a Republican politician I liked.

Seems pretty comical that in a year when someone won who actually is against the civil rights act, that people can talk about the extreme liberal agenda.

Fox News towered over the competition -- cable and broadcast -- with its midterm election coverage last night. According to early Nielsen estimates, Fox News averaged nearly 5 million viewers for its marathon coverage from 6 PM to 3 AM, beating CNN and MSNBC combined and peaking with 7.2 million viewers in 9:30 PM. During the 10 PM hour, Fox News is also projected to beat the three broadcast networks as it averaged 6.9 million viewers vs. 5.9 million for ABC's election coverage, 6 million for CBS's and 6.1 million for NBC's. It was a big night for Fox News' core conservative audience as the Republican Party took control of the House and made significant gains in the Senate.

I chose to avoid most of the nets especially Fox News like the plague last night, the only I watched was ABC and they mainly had a simple presentation.

Well here in New Mexico we now have our first woman (and first female Hispanic) governor, Susana Martinez beating out lt. gov Diane Denish. The campaign was getting nasty with a lot of weird accusations, namely Denish calling Martinez a Tejana. Not sure what Martinez will do, despite her conservative platform its rumored she's is/use to be a Democrat and was only Republican for election purposes in a conservative part of the state. NM's last GOP gov Gary Johnson turned into a full-fledged member of the Libertarian Party. At least this ends Bill Richardson's corrupt administration. I suppose the King family is laughing with Gary being re-elected. On the other hand, Steve Pearce has his old seat back after resigning to run for Senate in 2008 being losing to Udall.

Oh yes back here on the rez we might be getting our first woman President in the form of New Mexico state senator Linda Lovejoy. She ran back in 2006 but lost but this year her chances are looking better, perhaps she came be the one to actually change the state of the Navajo Nation/Dinétah? Actually I don't have too much faith in her although unlike her predecessors she is educated and has political experience off the rez.

Well if anyone is curious, Lovejoy lost to current Navajo Nation VP Ben Shelly, with Shelly claiming it is not a Navajo tradition to let women be leader. Which is odd since we are seen historically as a matriarchal leaning culture. On the flip side, it's odd Shelly got elected because now he is facing some serious criminal and ethics charges.

I am just happy voters had the good sense to reject Carl Paladino, Linda McMahon and Meg Whitman.

Paladino is deranged, Whitman maybe should spend $300 million next time she tries to buy an election, and McMahon is just so unethical and immoral with her personal business, that it would be really an insult to have her represent anybody. She doesn't care how many wrestlers die if the ratings are good.

Speaking of Connecticut, it's Florida 2000/Washington 2004 all over again.

Thanks for the insights into New Mexico. Very interesting. I'm sorry that Pearce won -- I guess it's a good thing Heather Wilson didn't run again. I never got over her embarrassing behavior after Janet Jackson showed a nipple.

Republicans won 15 chambers, including both in Minnesota, both in New Hampshire, both in North Carolina for the first time in over 100 years, one in Indiana, one in Ohio, one in Michigan. So expect a lot of gerrymandering to help Republicans keep the House for a long time.

On a more amusing note, Chris Christie in New Jersey appointed a Republican state senator to a higher position, to get him out of the way, as he was union-friendly and supported gay marriage. His seat was taken over by a Democrat, making New Jersey one of the few states where Democrats actually improved their position in the legislature. WTG Chris.

And Republicans in Hawaii lost a senate seat, which means they are now down to 1.

The Reign of Right-Wing TV

Is pleasing Republicans necessary for a hit show? You betcha. Why the GOP matters more to mainstream TV than you know

I’ll name a hit TV show, and you guess if it’s more popular among Republicans or Democrats. First, NCIS — investigating military crimes on CBS. Safe bet conservatives love it, right?

How about ABC’s Desperate Housewives — a racy soap, female audience. Little more tricky.

Now things get tough: CBS’ geeky, atheist-friendly The Big Bang Theory, Fox’s megarated American Idol, ABC’s progressive Emmy winner Modern Family.

Which of these shows is favored more by Republicans?

All of them.

According to months of data from leading media-research company Experian Simmons, viewers who vote Republican and identify themselves as conservative are more likely than Democrats to love the biggest hits on TV. Of the top 10 broadcast shows on TV in the spring, nine were ranked more favorably by viewers who identify themselves as Republican.
