August 22, 201015 yr Author Member Well, they were wrong, for the most part. The Catherine Stewart choice was interesting, as Kayla became a huge, iconic character for DAYS fans, yet only after Stewart was replaced. She seemed to become an afterthought. Did she want to leave or did they fire her?
August 23, 201015 yr Member wow Pamela Kingsley! I remember when the Kingsleys were big on AMC. That's when I started watching. The most memorable one was Mrs Kingsley.
August 23, 201015 yr Author Member Yeah I've never seen them, just the father. The daughter was fixated on Mark wasn't she, and when they broke up she tried to kill herself?
August 23, 201015 yr Member Yeah I've never seen them, just the father. The daughter was fixated on Mark wasn't she, and when they broke up she tried to kill herself? This is vague and probably wrong somehow but Brandon was running Sensuelle, the big cosmetics firm, and cheating on his wife Sara with Erica, while Pamela the daughter was taking piano lessons from Mark. This was when Kent Bogarde showed up running a rival cosmetics firm (I forget what it was called) and he wanted Erica too.
August 23, 201015 yr Author Member And Sara was Tudi Wiggins? No wonder she was the most interesting. I think I might have seen her once on a Daytime to Remember installment. Then the father was Michael Minor, whom I mostly remember for wearing tight trousers on Petticoat Junction.
August 23, 201015 yr Member I often wonder if how Maureen would have turned out had Dolan been kept in the role. I've heard it say Dolan was replaced because she was too young play with Peter Simon in '86, but oddly they starred opposite of each other just fine 1982-1984.
August 23, 201015 yr Author Member That's interesting. I thought she'd left the show voluntarily. I think if she had stayed GL might have been more willing to give Maureen romances, otherwise I don't know if there would have been a difference.

She seemed to become an afterthought. Did she want to leave or did they fire her? I don't know if she was fired or not, but she's Canadian and did a few notable things up here. She didn't become a household name on either side of the border, though.
August 23, 201015 yr Author Member I'm glad she still got some work after this (as did Tina Johnson/Lurlene, apparently -- Johnson looked better on the show than she does in the photo). One of the only times I'd heard of Stewart was when Josh Taylor mentioned her as one of his leading ladies. I guess MBE's Kayla didn't interact that much with Chris. I've heard it say Dolan was replaced because she was too young play with Peter Simon in '86, but oddly they starred opposite of each other just fine 1982-1984. Dolan left the role...after Parker was there for a while, the exec producer actually met with Dolan to see if she could come back...they felt that Parker came off too soft. Parker found out about it as they had lunch in her neighborhood (Dolan lived close by) so Parker went to the producer and said, "If you want a spitfire, I can give you spitfire." and they kept her and Dolan went to ATWT.
