OLTL: Question about 1991 story

I know what you mean about not enjoying all of when Robin has to play today's Dorian. It's been like this for a while...even before the Lord of the Banner story, I don't think she ever was entirely comfortable playing the weird camp stuff or even the very very melodramatic, almost operatic, story with Dorian's breast cancer, where she went around causing scenes and people wondered what was wrong (I kind of thought people would be more concerned if she WASN'T causing a scene). But there have been so many years where Dorian has had somewhat subpar material, especially starting around 1996, that maybe we were spoiled with the few moments which were better.

I wonder sometimes what Rauch would have planned for Dorian if he hadn't hated Robin Strasser. This is some of her stuff which was apparently a B-story at the time, although the production values are very good, and the very rehearsed fight choreographer. I guess this is the Holly Gagnier Cassie right, the slutty one? She's wearing the same dress Martha Byrne Lily was wearing on ATWT around this time...

Here's a late Rauch clip from around the time that Viki was pretending to be Niki and Carlo had her try to kill Megan. I guess it's a bridge between Niki (or Viki as Niki) being a great character and Niki later being a horrible eyesore.

Also on there is that terrible story Slezak apparently hated where Viki got angry around Kevin and tried to shoot him (there were several other Kevin recasts she could have aimed at), so that might be best avoided.

Oh man, the fight choreo/swing @4:45 is particularly awful  you can almost hear her counting out the moves in her head. :P So who IS this crazy little Eve Harrington? Dorian, that window was an accident waiting to happen. Yes, that's Holly Gagnier. I have an old SOD that managed to survive the trash can with a pic of her and her father. She's in an evening dress holding a script and he's in a tux holding a camera, I think he was a DP on Knots or something like that.

You know, ES looks a bit like BW in the first few seconds of that clip with Carlo, something about the eyes.

Judith Sanders is the missing link between Dorian Lord and Nora Gannon. She's dressed kinda Rae Cummings in that clip.

I mostly remember Holly for a photo from when she played Ivy on DAYS, she was in a top or dress with her breasts hanging very far out. If this was before OLTL then I have a feeling I know why Rauch hired her...

Diane was some girl Dorian took in, another of her strays. She turned out to be in with bad people. You might have already seen this but it's when she accidentally ran over Allison Perkins (I had NO idea that Allison was so nice and sweet and genuinely conflicted in her original run -- in some ways I prefer this to the coocoo Allison).

LMFAO @Viki and Maria!:lol: "MARIA!?" like, "WTF are you doing here!?" and, "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!?" And then there's Alison looking part Oliver part Viola in Twelfth Night, they really should have pulled that hat down on her head.

You've seen the burned at the stake clips, right? Talk about hilarious camp, and who knew Alice Haining could get that wild?

I was going to ask if anyone watching at the time knew Sharon Gabet from EON when she started as Melinda, and also how you felt about Jon sleeping with Dorian, Cassie, AND Melinda? Did that bother you? Was that mentioned by any soap magazines at the time? Was it mentioned on the show? I mean Jon didn't even seem like that important of a character. Aside from the relationship with Spring Skye, was he just a piece of a$$ for the Cramer women? I guess that would explain the porn 'stache.

LOL!

BITD, John Martin's Jon Russell really was just a hot piece of ass. Not much of an actor (in fact, he was so wooden, he practically left splinters everywhere he went), but boy, did he look good in a suit.

Yes, he was. He played the long-absent Bill Horton for Alice Horton's funeral. (Both the original actor, Edward Mallory, and his successor, Christopher Stone, have since passed away.) Aside from the now-completely-gray hair and no 'stache, he doesn't look half-bad. But, you can judge that for yourself.
