Members EricMontreal22
I can't get into Good Wife, but I appreciate that both critics, and some people I know who I respect love it so I assume it's above average (plus the Emmys are trying to recognize and celebrate network tv more now I think, or desperate to at least put SOME of it on the list). Hrmm. Glad to see True Blood on there, though it doesn't stand a chance of winning--still it's nice to see the Emmys start to aknowledge genre stuff. You know, I *love* Mad Men, but I'm getting kinda tired of seeing it at the Emmys. It's nice to see January Jones nominated though, even though she won't win. Especially after her utter, complete suckage on SNL people seem to knock her acting--I doubt she's very versatile, but as Betty, especially this year, she gave a really outstanding, subtle performance. The Mad Men Emmy I do hope to see though, and think stands a chance is EITHER Moss or Hendricks in best supporting actress--both have been great over the years but really came into their own last year. I know they've discussed this to death, but they really have to find some solution for what's a comedy and what's a drama, and hour and thirty minute shows (and no I don't have one). I'd definitely give Toni Colette her Emmy again, but it really doesn't seem fair (and really the average episode of Tara has as large a balance of comedy and drama as, well even True Blood). Oh I guess I might give the Emmy for writing to Weiner again for Shut the Door, Have a Seat which was maybe the best Mad Men episode ever, even if I'd hate to hear his speech. (If the Lost finale wins.... ARRRRGH) I actually have a lot of affection for Lea and Matthew from Glee, mainly cuz I loved their stage work so much, but I'm not sure either was really any good in Glee (it's hard to know though as their material is so cartoonish yet they're directed to do it as drama)--I mean cut the song and dance moments and they wouldn't have been nnominated... Members Mr. Vixen
I personally think Yvette Nicole Brown could have snagged an Emmy Nom for her role as "Shirley" on COMMUNITY...I think she is terrific! Glad Julianna Margulies and Christine Baranski got nods...I LOVE THEM, and I love the show, so I'm pretty good with this list.
Members Sylph
One doesn't know what's worse: egomaniac Weiner or lameass finale by Team Darlcrapton.
Members quartermainefan
Lame awards. Spartacus: Blood And Sand was the best new show of the year, starting out as a mere beefcake show and turning into riveting drama. Lucy Lawless and John Hannah (he especially) deserved a nomination for Best Supporting Actress and Actor. Viva Bianca was great as the villain of the show. It also became a watercooler show and was I believe the only new show that actually doubled it's audience by the time for season ended. A prequel series showcasing Lawless and Hannah is in the works as well as a second season.

Members OLTL_fan
If 30 Rock wins yet again, I will never watch again.
Administrator Toups Posted August 29, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted August 29, 2010 As much as I would love for 30 Rock to win, it's not. Glee and Modern Family have all the buzz and momentum, especially Glee - they won the Golden Globes and the SAGs. And rarely anyone is picking 30 Rock to win. I think Glee will win. Members wingwalker
I'd love for Jim Parsons to win for Lead Actor in a Comedy, but it seems the critics & those who vote seem to hate Big Bang Theory...
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I'm not a big fan, but I wouldn't mind him winning either. I'm sick of the lack of traditional situation comedies on television, and the ones that are produced are nothing to brag about. Him winning would be a nice boost for the traditional situational sitcom.
Administrator Toups Posted August 29, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted August 29, 2010 Because Sheldon is very annoying. I have Jim 4th, after Alec, Steve Carrell, Matthew Morrison for my rooting interest. Well, Jon Cryer did win last year. LOL And it could happen again if the Modern Family actors split the vote. Members lovely_m
I'm going for Jim too and Neil Patrick Harris for supporting. If he loses out to John Cryer again I'm going to cry.
Members wingwalker
I can see how people find Sheldon annoying, he's a "you either love him or hate him" type of character. But yeah, Y&Rworldturner, I prefer traditional sitcoms like Big Bang too. CBS moving Big Bang to Thursdays was such a vote of confidence for the traditional sitcom, as would Jim Parsons winning would be.
Administrator Toups Posted August 29, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted August 29, 2010 Also, Jim doesn't do anything "special" - he mostly talks very fast/makes weird faces and that's it. The only "great scene" he had last year was the balloon/helium scene. Other than that, he was the same as usual.
