April 20, 201015 yr Member http://news-briefs.ew.com/2010/04/19/next-james-bond-movie-postponed-indefinitely/ That's a shame. I know that the franchise's best days were long ago, but I do admire Daniel Craig's work in the role.
April 20, 201015 yr Member I hate the Daniel Craig films and how they look down on the other Bond films. The theme songs sucked, no Miss MoneyPenny, Q, etc. all these little tiny things that were special parts of the series. His films felt like any old action film. They were GOOD films, but not Bond.
April 20, 201015 yr Author Member I thought the first one was good. My father is a huge Bond fan and he really liked Casino Royale a lot, he said it reminded him of the book. I didn't think the second one was that great. The songs have sucked for many years. I think the last one I really enjoyed was by Sheena Easton or Rita Coolidge. I feel like a lot of the stuff with Moneypenny and Q only worked with the original actors in those roles. M still works because Judi Dench is such a presence, but I would rather keep my memories of Lois Maxwell and Desmond Llewelyn. Edited April 20, 201015 yr by CarlD2
April 20, 201015 yr Member The Daniel Craig bond movies are the only Bond movies ive ever actually liked.
April 20, 201015 yr Member I actually hate Craig movies. Found them awful cr*p. That Haggis was involved and that whole armada of A-list re-writers doesn't make it any better.
April 20, 201015 yr Member Disappointing. I like Daniel Craig as James Bond and Judi Dench as M. I thought the first one was good. My father is a huge Bond fan and he really liked Casino Royale a lot, he said it reminded him of the book. I agree with your father. Casino Royale is my favorite Bond film for that exact reason. In the books, Bond doesn't have gadgets and doesn't live this upscale life. He gets by on his skills and contacts.
April 20, 201015 yr Member Casion Royale was a great film to revive the franchise, but Quantum was a pretty sorry follow-up. I think the problem was trying to re-build the from scratch and building new continuity. Remember the Dalton film Licence to Kill? Great movie, but it doesn't feel like a Bond movie at all.
