I dunno. I don’t watch as I don’t enjoy the show. It’s just tricky being the sole black woman going up against four or five crazy, devious, entitled white women. It’s not without its pitfalls. I just think Bravo needs to do better.

I admit...while I am 3 or 4 episodes behind, I just might get a bottle of wine because Twitter is going to be hot mess tonight...roughly 6pm Pacific Time. People from the time I went to sleep and woke up this morning are seriously ON...READY...and even scarier...ON SIGHT.

ETA: I am caught up with RHoDubai and am looking forward to seeing Shady Phae Phae who is looking more and more like a FOH than just a cameo on the show. I guess Bravo really are trying to do a comeback with her, aren't they?

If twitter is coming for Portia (and Jagger & Phoenix), Kyle will parlay that into the only role she knows how to play—victim.  And it can work.  Hopefully Garcelle won’t take any heat off of Erika, Kyle, Dorit, Mo, and PK by offering any sympathy or accepting any responsibility for this.  She is not accountable.  And Rinna will probably try to run her trash mouth that this validates what she said.  Meanwhile, as uncomfortable as it was—Rinna’s “statement” can be a conversation, but she picked the wrong time to bring it up because Diana saying she donates $$ to Africa in an open letter to Garcelle IS hella racist (as was Dorit telling her to calm down and Kyle accusing her of not paying).

As far as Sutton is concerned… idk man.  She brings it, for sure.  And personally, I love her friendship with Garcelle and think she has the best interior style since Yolanda lol.  But she is a Karen and Crystal and that hag Diana are right about her being completely awkward and unable to express herself in any kind of normal, understandable way.  Lol.  Kyle was awful, but so was Sutton—she literally just blew off Diana’s miscarriage.  Sutton wants it both ways and I think we’re giving her a pass because we approve of who she’s battling, not because she’s right.  Anyway, despite being problematic, Sutton has been a strong addition to the show.  I don’t know what we’d do without her or Garcelle.

And this is going back a few weeks, but I just wanted to comment on Crystal/Sutton. What a mess!  Btw, in the group, Crystal sucks… but I love her home scenes and her husband brings the Hollywood cred’ this show needs.  And she did prove herself formidable last year going against Sutton.  But whatever this was… was a total flop.  First, in her backwards way of defending Sutton, she brings up the “violation”… so she is as self-centered as everyone else, Lolol.  I finally understand her, though.  Clearly, she has been through therapy and has misguidedly been taught to never allow anyone to invalidate your feelings.  Because your feelings are yours and, therefore, can’t be wrong.  She tried to extend that premise to her “dark” comment.  But what Crystal sadly doesn’t and won’t understand is that her very inappropriate word choice (because that’s how she “feels”) implicates Sutton as a predator and a racist.  Lol.  I don’t know what she thinks she’s doing, but if she thinks this is her pulling her weight……….. Lolol.

Sorry for being so long winded like Dorit!!

@DynamiteKiddo it wasn't long winded like Dorit, it was very interesting! I personally feel the same way as you about Sutton, in that i am on the fence and she cannot have it both ways. She got herself in this mess. Nevertheless, I do think Diana goaded her like a spider, she is targeting her and wants a reaction from her -- a reaction she knows will land Sutton in trouble. The irony was that Kyle was ready to help drag Sutton in that direction but completely effed up. She laid hands on Sutton and dismissed her own claims of having miscarried. And now the focus is on what Kyle did (as well it should  because that scene was pretty awful).

Totally agree with everything you wrote about Crystal. I love her family scenes and Rob seems like a fun, lighthearted RH husband, with legit Hollywood pedigree. But she messed up with her insinuation about Sutton. It was a clear embellishment. Leaning into her feelings is one thing, but when the facts are laid out coldly, Sutton is not a predator. I think Crystal thought Twitter would back her up, and that did not transpire.

BTW has anyone noticed? Amid the slew of non-apology apologies, zero from Erika apologising for her language towards Jax.

Ty!  I’m down for anything that finally exposes Kyle for the treacherous snake she is!  Lol.  And I think Erika likely thinks she’s in too deep to apologize?  She’ll obviously try to turn it on Garcelle (like she did with Denise and her daughters at the pizza party), but when it doesn’t work this time she’ll either have to apologize or lash out and I have a feeling which way it’ll go………. lol.

Sooo, I think Kyle is literally the worst.  And worst of all, she doesn’t shine in any situation—almost everyone else’s home scenes are better and none of her “friendships” with the other housewives feel genuine (bc she is a snake!).  However, like others have already noted, the drama between the three sisters and whatever that mother obviously put them through is THE story of the show.

But I don’t get the Kim love.  Kyle weaponized her sister’s alcoholism on national tv, which is obviously shameful.  And Rinna won’t “OWN IT” that she capitalized on a moment of weakness (the ride to game night) and made a years long story out of doubting Kim’s sobriety.  Which is also shameful.  But Kim IS an addict who is incapable of taking any accountability for like anything in her life.  As someone with a complicated relationship with alcohol, I want to identify and empathize with her… but I have never seen a shred of humility in her and she uses her recovery as a shield to not answer for any of her very real transgressions, drunk or sober.  I hate to say it, but I think she’s a pile.  And apart from being quirky in the early years (that feels gone now), I find her even less charming than Kyle.  Just my opinion

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.

    • I decided this primetime soap deserved it's own thread as the Primetime soaps thread is very cluttered and why shouldn't NBC's Lorimar soap mot have a chance to shine? In doing a deeper dive into the second season ratings I was surprised to see that FR actually had an uptick in the ratings when NBC moved it to 9pm Tuesdays beginning March 82. I'd always assumed this move was a desperate one as NBC were running short of programming and had given up on the show, deciding to let the final episodes play out and be hammered by 3's Company  and CBS Movie. But the numbers paint a different story. In it's 10pm slot up against Hart to Hart, which regularly finished in the Top 20, FL premiered in 53rd place and placed in the 40's and 50's as the season continued. But come January 82 the numbers surged a little now moving into the 40's hitting #43 in Feb. Hart to Hart was #11 Then in March Bret Maverick was moved to 8pm with FR @9. First week 16th March FR #47 15.1/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Not great but #2 in it's timeslot March 23 FR #44 15.6/25 3's Company #4 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #33 So even with a stronger movie on CBS FR's numbers went up. March 30 FR #31 16.6/26 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #56 Best rating/position yet Tues April 6 pre empted Tues April 14 FR #36 16.0/26 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #11 CBS Movie #59 Maintaining previous week's numbers Tues April 21 FR #33 15.6/24 3's Company #3 Too Close for Comfort #5 CBS Movie #60 Numbers down a little (reflecting general spring downturn) but best ranking of the season so far Tues April 28 FR #35 15.1/23 3's Company #9 Too Close for Comfort #6 CBS Movie #42 Tues May 4 FR #27 15.2/24 3's Company #5 Too Close for Comfort #4 CBS Movie #41 Season finale and highest position of the season. Looking at those numbers I wonder why NBC cancelled the show? They had very few hits and here was a show that was holding it's own and moving up in the rankings in a tougher timeslot. And being a serial, the storylines could continue to build the following season. And I'm sure the desirable W18-49 demo was good. Some might argue that CBS were shower weaker movies, but even so, soap viewers are pretty loyal. I guess Grant Tinker arrived at NBC and wanted a classier look but there was room for FR on the schedule. I mean, the following season Knight Rider,Powers of Matthew Star and the A Team arrived so there was still room for more populist fare. Flamingo could have stayed at 9pm-the replacement Gavilan bombed (surely FR would have done better} or moved back to 10pm. The following Jan NBC had a hit with A Team Tues 8pm. Had Flamingo followed it, it might have really taken off. As it was they tried Bare Essence, which flopped. Oh well,it was not to be...
    • Always, in every way, Cass/Wally/Felicia foundational to my viewing. And, I think if we look at the aftermath of the disastrous 90 minute show that we find too many pockets of some kind of lost time at the show plus way too much of change-ups in exec & writing leadership and of course we also reach the first time it becomes notable that NBC wants to get rid of the show so they can put a new soap they own in the timeslot.
