If Mia Korf had stayed on as Blair, half of the current viewers wouldn't know the hell Blair was. And you could forget about Starr and Jack.

It would be worth it to see Starr speak Japanese.

I'm with you in terms of shoe-horning, but you're losing me because the shoe-horning has crossed all races on this show. Rex and David Vickers ARE friggin' shoehorns, and a black or latino or asian or gay character or two are worthy of the same.

No, Rex is a Laurence. Mitch is his father; Roxy is his mother. Natalie is a Buchanan and a Lord, b/c Clint and Viki are her parents. See how that works?

Seriously, do you watch OLTL at all? Or just the parts where Farah Fath hurts America with her bad acting?

Ah, okay, so you wouldn't consider the person who was raised as your brother as part of your family anymore because there's no biological relation. I see how it is.

He can still be a part of Natalie's family in a sentimental way, but that doesn't make him a Buchanan.

No she doesn't.

The Russells could very well have been a white family. JER wrote colour-blind stories and the Russell family would've worked either as a white family or a black family. And that is a good thing! They didn't get special minority treatment.

Just because someone is ignorant of the message they're sending doesn't mean the mnessage isn't being sent. There is so much truth to DeeeDee's observations.

But Rex isn't. He doesn't even interact with them outside of Bo.

And that doesn't even address Gigi, Shane, Stacy, Sky, Ford, Cole, Marty or John.

Then blame the people who got rid of the Halls for the current state of affairs.

Who else are we blaming!?

No, Amello, the Woleks were Polish, not the Siegels.

If that's the message she picked up, either she was watching the wrong show or she was reading too much into the satire.

Except for the soap we're talking about @ the moment. That one was created around a Polish family, an Irish family, a Black/African-American family, and a WASP family.

BAM!

No, just a psychotic hermaphrodite.

OLTL has survived pretty nicely without the Hall family.

No, just a psychotic hermaphrodite.

Ah, so you'd prefer the black characters got special treatment and weren't allowed to be villains? I thought it was pretty progressive to have a black villain like Vincent/Valerie on the show. So often, shows are afraid of backlash from the PC agenda if they make gays or racial minorities bad guys.

Don't forget about the thrilling "down low" storyline where the actors looked disgusted and never kissed on the mouth.

I'd prefer black characters to get the same treatment as the white ones in regards to storylines.

Instead of being villian of the week type characters like Georgie from OLTL in the late 90's.
