Susan always rocks and should be used more often. She is my favorite old school vet and should be used far more often and for better reasons than propping up her kids. I love watching her interact with them but wish TPTB would give her more to do. Marie Masters looks good and I wonder how old she is?

Shocked that Susan is 69, she looks younger than the other vets in her age range.

Love how Carly gets up close and then pushes Jack away. The more she tells Jack no, the more he wants to dump Janet and run.

Luke, for the first time today, came off as almost 'mature' when he was at police station and then again when he challenged Holden. Liked this, dislike when they write him as a late teen lost in emotion.

Parker's acting was good today. Also, loved the scene where he was sleeping next to Lib.

Can't believe the show is almost over. World Turns is so solid now and, if given time, could go up in the ratings. I hate CBS and TeleNext.

Ye Gods...there's nothing worse than both Lily and Luke both being clingy, whiny drama queens.

I do admit, as much as I dislike DrNotHouse, I flove that he told Katie to get over herself and think of someone else for a change.

ICAM, P.J.!!^^

The Molly/Meg talk was great. Even Molly's justification about keeping it from Holden was "okay", although a simple "you would've just scared Meg off" would've done.

Do Lily and Luke not remember Damian has tried to kill them both, in the past? Do they not remember that less than a year go, he pretended Holden was dead and covered up the fact that Holden was actually alive? Do they not remember that less than a week ago, he was stuffing Meg's lifeless body into a chest? If anyone should be in Dearbrook, it should be these two. Normal people who've been through a situation like that would cleanse their hands of him, but noooooo. Luke & Lily have to know THE TRUTH!!!! They belong on a deserted island together, with one bottle of hairspray, and see who comes back asking questions.

I love how concerned Katie is for Liberty.....three weeks after Liberty found out!!!! Another thing I hate about ATWT: sudden detachment of characters. Yes, Brad is dead. But Liberty is still Katie's stepdaughter. Instead of showing Henry and Reid mercilessly c*ckfight over Katie, maybe they could show Katie/Liberty.

Henry's a little "overdone" as the comedian of Oakdale. Yeah. (Deadpanned) Malaria. Isolation. Ha. Ha. ................................ Now, move on.....

DK felt that TP, mind control and youth serums would get the ratings up????LOL..no wonder we were cancelled. DK only knows how to rip off and cheapen themes explored in other movies and TV shows.

DK didnt need to take up time to build relationships, they are already THERE. If the writers and producers who come on a show can leave their egos at home, they could see they dont have to recreate the wheel, its there, it just needs some sharpening up. ATWT would have been the easiest soap to come in and fix..organically, naturally, the core is still there, the relationships have built up over time.

I wasnt watching ATWT this summer,so I have no idea what Bob's supposed illness was or the I am sure, jackass way the handeled it, but say, DK wanted to jump start things, rip off better source material AND give his wet dream TP a job, he could have done it by using the illness as a jumping off point. Okay, Barbara is depressed because of Bob's illness, he is the only father she knows, and the only stable family and relationship she has seen are Bob and Kim's and she is feeling that slip away. She also sees Emily and Paul "happy," (soap happy as in,for right now) and doesnt have to interfere in her life. Maybe the econony has hit her investments and her business (does she still have BRO, perfect time for Lucinda to put down the tea cozy and go steal it out from under her, reawaking the old fued) and for the first time she is feeling unsure of herself personally, financially, and romantically. Pefect set up for her to be vunerable to a grifter like Mick...sans youth serum. Say he was a porn star along with Allison (she was a porn star right??) or one of the bottom feeders involved in porn, he comes to town to shake her down with some money...(finding out she is a Stewart about to marry a Hughes means money to the creep)He is blackmailing Allison, who has some real sexual issues herself (screwing anyone before her wedding ) and we see her still turned on by him (though we also see its completely unhealthy and not the usual DK spin that it is TP and he is too hot to say no too and every woman wants a bad boy) and he sets his sights on Babs and pops her cork a couple of times..maybe he is double dealing her and going to Craig and/or Lucinda behind her back to steal the company. Of course we are setting up his murder...but we involved the Hughes, the Stewarts and got Paul, Emily, Allison, Casey, Babs, Lucinda, Craig involved and suspects in the case. No mind contol, no gimmicks, and Babs is left as an intelligent, though delusional and very, very human woman, not an idiot who would believe there are things like youth serums and that Mick is James becase he has a baby picture of Paul.

As it is, the "revelation," that Mick gaves us is typical DK, stupid, boring and a total nonevent.

^^^^advice, pal-o-mino....earplugs. Lily screeching nearly punctured my eardrums.

Today...eh, I can't wait for the Mick story to be over. I'm really, really bored by Alison and her latest Manwhore. How Alison got to be on the endless frontburner is one of life's conundrums.

But Billy Magnussen's haircut is hawt.

Love Carjack. Icked out at Jack making the lamest move on his wife.

Hallelujah Teri finally knows about Jan's romp with Dusty. Finally, some movement in this story.

Teri hasn't been in contact with her sister since she was 2 (well, until she tracked her down to Oakdale) and yet, she remembers that Janet hates needles? Sometimes, the lines just don't match up with the history.

It was nice that Carly finally brought up the question of "what if...Liberty recovers?" That was a question I'd been waiting for. And although they avoided the answer to it, I'm just glad they got it out there.

Thank goodness Teri knows. Won't be long before Oakdale does, too.

Paul mentioning Alison/Casey to Mick was a cheap way of intersecting stories. Paul hasn't hardly socialized with Alison since he and Lucinda tried gaslighting Craig all those years ago. Paul mentioning how happy she is with Casey was.............just weird.

I love how Margo says "MickDon Tay". :P

This whole Mick storyline just FAILED miserably. The second he started battling with James in his head: this storyline was good as dumb.

While I agree the Mick story overall is a bust, it's not an EPIC bust like, say, anything Nuke. At least it gave Barbara something to do. It could have been interesting if it had pulled in more of the town, and dropped the lame Mick/Alison angle.

At least it proved to me Pelphrey can do more than scream all his lines.

In normal times this storyline would just be a bust, (but since ATWT was on life support, they knew full well what happened to GL and that the net had an itchy trigger finger,) for a last ditch rally the troops, circle the wagons, come on gang lets put on a [!@#$%^&*] SHOW, this is an EPIC bust. Everyone involved behind the scenes at both GL and ATWT need to get our of the freaking business, if they cant even trouble themselves enough to put some creative energy into their business.

How come back in the day, a show would falter a bit, and TPTB would quickly recover the show (or be removed.) GL and ATWT have been gasping for breathe during the last ten to five years but still, no regime changes...so Wheeler gives us stupid crap like Grady, the OOOGGGLY assasin with a star crossed romance with Daisy, the oooogly teenager and we get Mick...this is supposed to save a show??? Get a job as a crossing guard and stay out of the business.

But yes, it is nice that Pelphery can do more then scream his lines, he can also speak in a monotone(and I like Pelphery, but soaps have not helped his acting.) I wonder what made him choose ATWT over GH? (though I think to salvage or even have a career he needs to get out of soaps alltogher.)

Is this someone you should be dealing with? I got the drama on lock. Leave it to me. You are my sister. You have loved & protected me every moment I've been in this world. It's my turn to stand up for you.

    • I just watched it, it was decent, looking forward to Martin's secret. Glad to get info on why the children were aged up!
    • !!! I felt the same. Martin secret has always been my favorite storyline.  I happen to Andre's wardrobe but it ages him. They have a grandpa vibe.

, Facts! I would like to see something like that in Daytime. Both of y'all can back up off my husband! Tomas couldn't shine his shoes.
    • Brandy was an odd mish-mash of a character. A radical during her college days, then a journalist/romance writer, I believe? But not so much of a radical that she had a problem chasing millionaire Alan, LOL. The actress, JoBeth Williams, went on to have a pretty good movie and prime time career.

Thought I’d share this video featuring Cathy Carricaburu, now Foxhoven, who played Nancy Becker from 1976-1978.

She talks a little about her acting career starting around the 6 minute mark and briefly mentions Y&R. I’d be interesting to see some of her work on Y&R since it seems to be her most notable role.
    • I believe Henry Slesar intended that the Paige/Nola plot would play out over three to six months and Paige would be the new younger ingenue; but a few things happened. Sharon Gabet didn't renew her contract and the audience didn't like the Paige/Brian romance as it flirted with incest. Kim Hunter revealed in an interview that she as slated for 3 months but Henry asked her to stay on for an additional period. I watched Edge during this period when it originally aired and Margaret Colin was not great in the role. She seemed very green among the vets as was the dude playing Brian. He was poorly cast which was unusual for Edge.  I think Henry started to get pressure from ABC and P&G to jazz up the show given what was exploding under Monty on GH at the time. I loved Kim as Nola and all the stories it generated for others. Miles and Deborah in particular. But the next who dunnit plot in this period was not one of Henry's best (at least for me the culprit and explanation were lame for Henry).
    • Bill and the performer are the strongest male character and actor on this show.  Yeah, how I see it too. you pair your best young female with one of the weakest screams sabotage to me.  I like this idea, it doesn't make things too predictable. I would buy that!
