Oh yeah, I fully agree with you, luckily there were far more interesting stories going on at the time so it didn't matter that it was a boring C story... I just was using it to support the notion of AMC once being a very socially/culturally relevant show.

I never understood Shapiro firing McTavish and slamming her work to the press and then hiring her at OLTL, and then letting her go to GH as HW. Especially after Felicia Minei Behr came on as a Vice President of ABC Daytime and called JFP and McTavish's OLTL "absolutely unwatchable."

The woman must have something on every superior she has reported too over the years :P Its mind boggling how that woman has gotten so many chances on that network. If the genre lasts long enough, I am sure she will probably get another one.

Ugh! If I had to hear Gloria chant "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a wound for a wound..." one more time every time she poisoned his pudding... Alright, we get it!! It's payback! Sheesh!

Who knows the real story? Maybe Megan had some kind of contract with ABC that the network couldn't get out of. Maybe instead of paying her while she sat on her ass, they decided to shuttle her to OLTL which was in bad shape at the time. Maybe their logic was "what harm could this do." JFP really took to her, and I remember some mutual lovefest interview in one of the tabloids. Megan did get the demos up at OLTL, which probably earned her the GH gig when JFP became EP over there. I always got the impression that JFP/Megan to GH was a package deal.

I got that too. Certainly OLTL in 99 was in worse shape than AMC in 99 and no one at ABC seemed to know what to do with it (whereas they kinda knew what to do with AMC--beg and hire Agnes back for as long as possible). Maybe Megan was still on contract and tiwas cheap for them?

I am pretty sure the issue was not that he had paintings, but that he had stolen Nazi art--art the Nazis stole themselves. This is something fairly reprehensible and to this day governments pretend they want to return art (when they are not secretly keeping it themselves). I liked that story because it was a new low for Palmer and after years of Opal he was desperately in need of a new low. I think he had to go on the run briefly too because the government was closing in on him.

I wonder if they still have those ghost consultants... What was the name of that woman who teaches screenwriting somewhere?

Oh man!!!! That was when she had to pick Jack or Mike! She chose Jack but had sex with Mike to say goodbye! UGH! But then when Jack caught them she rationalized it by saying, but Jack! We were just saying goodbye! UGH! That pissed me off! And she wouldn't freaking stop saying that! I wanted to smack her! Then what 1 or 2 yrs later she would say it again! UGH! I am so glad she doesn't say it anymore!

    • I think his full name is Chadwick.  I remember, back when the previous actor was playing him, someone called him Chadwick a couple of times.  It may have been Stefano.
    • I didn't like those two sleeping together, but I suuure liked seeing BF in them. Wiggle and all. Just sad about the waxing of the chest.   Same.
    • It’s strange. I wonder if the writers at that time had worked with him somewhere else and had a relationship? That time is murky AF to find info on. Rachel Ames in effect left the show at one point in the early 80’s and she is credited like she was there until JFP. Tristan Rogers also took various contract breaks that were not short, and websites also credit him one long stint from 1981-1992. So many people come and go in short succession in 1982-part of 1983. I know they lost a lot of viewers when Genie left, but the show somehow survived yearly at number one through like sheer force of will.
    • In that way, at least we were fortunate.  The Daniel Pilon/Ron Raines decisions...not so much.
    • Letting Brennan put it in yet again while smirking over his shoulder... any day now! She's got him just where she wants him! I do think ol' Jack will be dead by February at the absolute latest. They have set him up as a counter-heavy to Sidwell, forcing poor Joss to work his next scheme or threatening to have her sent down for treason. Once he croaks I still deeply fear we will be subject to Valentin and Carly, partners in crime to lovers, possibly out to find out 'who killed Jack'. Anna was at her best keeping Sonny at arm's length and often somewhat cold, which she only really did (for better or worse) off and on during Carlivati's tenure. But Finola gradually got too emotional over Sonny, Jason, etc. and was allowed to do that onscreen too much long ago. Mulcahey brought some of that steel back, though Finola still managed to choke or quietly sob through some of that material as Anna found her way there lol. She's a brilliant actress and she did a good job with that stuff in '24, but now we're back to the same old and it humiliates the character whether she knows it or not.
    • Listen, I am all for Laura Wright wearing silly wigs and glasses if there was a point.  So far she's just been nice to Brennan and made out with him.  How evil lol!!  Even though I have been told Brennan loves her the writing was never there.  It's so low stakes.  Carly should maybe talk to her daughter and have an adult conversation instead. Laura and Anna look foolish.  I really don't have an issue with either being friendly or at least having some affection for Sonny.  I don't get both of them wanting to have a parade to announce how much they love him and how valuable the friendship is.  C'mon, Laura basically tolerated Sonny because of Luke until Lulu/Dante got together.  Anna likes Sonny because Robin did?  There really isn't much more of a reason for Anna to give him the time of day besides that.  They aren't lifelong buddies.
    • It is so dumb and is dragging on already after a couple weeks. By the time Carly wraps this up Joss will be running the local branch office. And yes, Laura deserves better. It's like they tripled down on this Sonny apologia stuff with her and Anna after the Mulcahey saga.
    • A white twunk with no purpose?? On Days of our Lives??!!
    • It feels like the show hired Hank Northrop first and are still deciding what to do with him lol. I don't have a judgement on the character yet, but this non-story (so far) has been happening for at least a month and he's only made 2 appearances lol. Also, this may be a stupid question, but is Chad's name really Chadwick?  I can't find any evidence of that in a quick google search, so I assume it's just a silly nickname Leo calls him?  I feel like I've heard other characters (EJ?) call him that though too.
