The thing is, Alvin... is that he's being shipped off just as he got back on the horse again. It's been a couple dozen episodes, and what you saw today was very typical of what he gave in the 80's. It takes a little time to get back into it. Those two dozen episodes should have been spread over TWO MONTHS, not SIX. The fans would have warmed to him much sooner (Like they have been the last couple of weeks), especially if the writing was better, and he had emotional scenes with Jess and Jeanne, and LOTS OF THEM. I know many aren't fans of his... but you have to admit, there has been marked improvement. One thing I would like to point out. Thom CRIED today. Last week, Goddard had to cover his face because he COULDN'T. Yet he's still on the show EVERY. DAMN. DAY.

Well, I watched two dyads yesterday.

Lily and Mac. VORTEX OF SUCK! a true energy vacuum...chirpy girl with no real emotions meets emo chick with...only dark emotions.

And then I watched Billy and Cane. And I know I stand alone here...but their scenes on the Chancellor back porch (or whatever that place with the pool and the statuary is...I'm confused, because it seems to be off the dining room, but wasn't it just flower beds when Larry Warton came out of Jill's bedroom? I digress...I didn't notice those statues when JT was waiting by the pool for Rachel Kimsey's Mac) had energy. I know it was too over-the-top for some of you, but for me it reinforced that Goddard would be just fine as an angry man, an action man...

He is sucked into intolerability with Khalil. Khalil (and, sadly, Ford) is the weak link.

If we separated that husband and wife, and sent Lily to be with her mother, Cane would be much more tolerable, IMO.

I just can never buy any Cane/Billy confrontation. It's all huffing and puffing and chest jutting and no foundation. It was instadislike, with no layers whatsoever, from the very beginning. Someone at the show gets off on the idea of wannabe alpha males baring their teeth over the helpless women, but I think it just shows how incredibly generic many of the characters have become. Billy has had this hostility in one form or another with every single man he has encountered since his return. It's lazy writing, and not true to the character.

God, this show is UGH....not Y&R, or any passable soap for that matter.

I find today's episode to be an example of the agenda driven and wannabe "hip" writing that's plaguing Y&R, but comes off as so hallow, pretentious, silly, and stupid.

What exactly are the objectives of the idiots writing this show? To zap it of any soul and identity it has left?

Chloe/Chance = Zzzzzzz

I seriously cannot understand Jack flirting with Emily, especially this soon into knowing her and knowing who she looks like.

They're trying too hard to sell Haiduk and Emily.

I won't even get into the Billy and Mac mess of a conversation.

Sharon and Adam are seriously cold, disgusting, and void of chemistry. Muhney continues to be a disaster in this role.

Y&R, be careful, I predict another ratings erosion soon, and its very deserved. This show is a mess, and no storyline is intriguing or being executed well.

Might be against the drain but I really see the main problems not with the writing but with certain actors who just have zilch appeal and make minor writing errors so incredible annoying.

I'm calling out in order of annoyance: Daniel Goddard, Michelle Stafford, Michael Muhney and Christel Khalil. Basically all of them should be fired/written off or replaced by more capable perfromes. All should deliver st. to their respective storylines but they only take live out of them. Ugh!
