Members Soapsuds
I thought I'd start this topic and see if it gets any reponses. I am personally loving Kish much more than Nuke now. The writing is much better for them than Nuke. Friday's scenes of Kish were so much better than the high school special of Nuke on ATWT.

Members YRBB
I appreciated Nuke in the beginning but they soon proved to be a wooden, uncharismatic couple, which was plagued by horrible writing. In contrast, Fish and Kyle have been a quite exquisitely written couple. Both characters have their own, distinct personalities, they have a life outside of the pair, and are being written as any other couple would have been. Nuke may have been the first, but Kish have heart, and they work.
Members Cheap21
Kyle is a horrible pathetic excuse for a character and they should have written him out months ago. I hate taht he's been kept on and now they are doing a 180 to get people to try and feel sympathetic for him when is such a sleazy bastard
Members EastMA2
Most definitely Kish. Better writing, and even better actors. Even when the writing for Nuke is good, the actors are horrible.
Members All My Shadows
Kyle and Oliver have the luxury of being on a better-written show that gives its characters room to breathe, so they get points for that. My main issue with Nuke is that they were thrown together way. too. fast. And my main issue with Kyle and Oliver is that the writers seem to have forgotten everything they'd written for these characters prior to the "The Kyle and Oliver Story." Members Soapsuds
A little history AMS?? I know Kyle was not a very nice person/character. I know he was blackmailing Roxy about the paternity/blood given to Rex son. Can you elobarate more on him and Fish before they started their storyline? Members JellicleCat
Isn't this a rhetorical question? It doesn't matter which story you choose from these two shows, OLTL is better written as a whole. The writing for Nuke is bad, but that isn't something that just applies to them. The writing for ATWT sucks whichever story you look at. They often have good ideas for stories but the execution is appallingly bad. Unless there are some major changes in the writing department ATWT will get cancelled next very soon, and deserve it!
Members DRW50
I wish that were true for most of OLTL's characters, but at this point I think a number of them are suffocating (especially if they are in a story with Todd or Rex or John). I'm not going to compare Kish and Nuke because they both face some of the same complaints -- the characters are too "good", they are part of a gay agenda, they are about a trend, and so on. I'm guessing within six months a lot of people will end up being as sick of Kish as they are of Nuke. It takes a lot for a gay couple on a soap to not be seen as a fad. I like them, but I do think they have written Kyle as very very plot-oriented, forgotten his past, rushed his relationship with Nick.
Members Soapsuds
But there are other storylines that are written better than Nuke. Friday's Nuke moments felt like an afternoon special about professors hitting on their students. Not to mention Van's extra gayness in his acting has turned me off so fast!! Less is more where he is concerned. I found the whole scenes rather silly and just pointless. Kish had Christian trying to get Fish to go after Kyle again with him not to sure. He decides to talk to Kyle and ask for another chance at happiness....etc.....Kyle very throughly turns him down and you can see the disappointment in both Kyle and Fish with the 3rd wheel (the character escapes me) enters the picture. Now that had me feeling for sorry for all parties involved. Nuke just gives me a headache.
Members JellicleCat
ATWT as a whole gives me a headache right now. I keep hearing that it's improved, but I don't see it. The writing still sucks as far as I'm concerned. They are destroying characters left and right trying to make them fit into the stories that these so called writers come up with. Especially the female characters. Margo, Lily, Barbara, Janet and Rosanna are all acting like complete morons. And poor Henry..... I used to like him, but first the writers saddle him with the Geneva Swift debacle, and now this latest horror. Lynn Herring and Stuart Damon are both perfectly fine actors, but I hate, hate, hate their characters and am counting the seconds till both of them are gone.... The Nuke story isn't all that bad when you compare it to the rest of this trainwreck of a show. Just my opinion though.
Members Soapsuds
I just want better acting from Nuke. Silbermann needs acting lessons. Hansis needs to tone down his facial expressions. They are way too much. His acting has gotten just as bad as John Paul V. from OLTL. And enough of the afternoon specials with Nuke. Professor hits on Noah. Noah tells him to back off. Then instead of telling Luke....ummmm...realize another guy has feelings for you..whether right or wrong.....he maybe thinks Luke was too soon of relationship after coming out and decides to have hot man love with Mason not wanting to hurt Luke but not able to stop......not that hard to do ....LOL And thus a triangle starts with Noah telling Luke maybe their relationship happened too fast and was a mistake.....Duh......LOL Instead Luke already knows Mason flirted with Noah because he blabbed all to Luke....stupid/dumb move....loses all suspense in the story. Members DRW50
I guess for me, Lily has always been a moron, and Margo has been much worse in the past, so I don't notice. The idea of Barbara being "seduced" by Henry is ridiculous, but the whole storyline is such camp I try not to take it too seriously, at least she's not sitting in a dark room with a veil on her head, gasping the day away. I don't pay a lot of attention to Nuke scenes now. I think there is still potential for them somewhere, especially in separate stories (I have never had the problems with JS a lot of fans seem to have -- he's not a good actor, but neither are some of the others in much bigger leading roles on ATWT), but they seem very tired now. I think the whole professor thing is out of place on a show which is not going to really be able to show anything. This type of story would only work with actors who can do very sexual chemistry with each other and on a show which can do very sexual scenes. That's not daytime. It's not primetime. It's QAF. They would make this story bad camp and have Brian tut-tutting as Justin drops his pants for his mysterious bohemian professor, but it would probably work on some level. I do think that it's easier for a soup couple when they first start out than when they are a few years in. And if Kish become all about a baby, which is possible thanks to Stacy, then the lack of development for Kyle is really going to start to take a toll. Members skiman12082004
Hands down OLTL's Kish is far better than Nuke. I have watched them both and I love what OLTL is doing. I started watching OLTL soley for them but now I find myself drawn into the other stories. ATWT sucks a*s (not literally LOL)
Members MichaelGL
It's like you read my mind CarlID! I agree with every word. I'm kinda in a wait and see mode with Kyle. I can't shake the feeling that perhaps he'll slip back into his bad boy behavior somewhere down the road, but I agree they are portraying him rather differenly than when he first came on. I would kill to see a gay character portrayed as a three dimensional character aka a villain. (Not like how Y&R did this with Adam, which was a simple plot point)
