Carl, I totally understand why they'd want to lose expensive lady vets of a certain age, but the fact that Kish is even mentioned is just so insulting to me, I'm not making light of their s/l by any means, but as if these newbie characters deserve any sort of preferential treatment at this point, that they would even be mentioned before Jessica, Natalie, Rex, and Gigi... oy.

I have loved AMC for years, but I have no problem saying that OLTL is far more interesting on a day to day basis and I'd be really upset if it got the ax. Of course I want AMC to prosper, but it's about time that OLTL gets the credit it deserves. And I hate that I don't even want to hear the name Aisha Tyer right now, not that I was ever a big fan, but getting dragged into this mess is doing no favors for her potential daytime audience.

I think Nelson is full of crap. I agree about Kish, I can't imagine Frons bringing them or Kassie over to AMC.

Aren't OLTL's demos better anyways? Why would it get cancelled before a show that is doing worse, even if it's not much worse?

If Pratt wasn't HW of AMC, Frons wouldn't be doing diddly squat for it

"I doubt they ever expected Aisha to do that well, what talk shows in recent years have?"

They wouldn't have gone to the pilot stage with Aisha's show if they didn't expect it to go well. And "The View" is the only daytime network success story of the past decade.

And they are writing Nikki as "going on vacation"? After the way MTS' last touch and go negotiations went, I wouldn't put it past Maria to cancel MTS' contract at cycle and say "see ya," with Nikki leaving with Victor being the last time we ever see her. If they will let Eric F*cking Braeden walk out of the door and think that some generic copy is going to fill the void, anything is possible. And you already see the way they treat Nikki...she's a non-entity.

Bitch really thinks she's hardcore if she believes the show can sustain their ratings without Victor. This isn't Days of our Lives and Y&R isn't in last place.

Y&R could survive without Victor. They wrote out the entire Brooks and Foster families and survived. He's become a tired character anyway. The problem is they have damaged and squandered so many characters and they suck at bringing in new characters, so there will be more of a hole even though Victor is so pointless these days. They will probably just bring in another aging wannabe alpha and shove him down viewer's throats. Exactly what the show does not need.

bellcurve, a part of me will be shocked if Nikki and Jill are still on the show by the end of 2010. The contempt Queen Maria and company feel for them is not subtle.

This is HUGE, ZendallFan. This isn't like Aiden Turner leaving AMC. This is on par with whether La Lucci decides to make that move to L.A.

And it may not matter to you, but love him or hate him and despite the despicable things Victor has done, he is, to many, the face of the show. You can argue that there are more characters on the show other than Victor, but really, what are they doing with those characters?

If this is true, I want Braeden to stick to his guns until a quality writing/production team comes in to rescue this show and invite him back. Maria and Paul should be ashamed of themselves.

And what Maria doesn't understand is that replacing MTS and Jess Walton with younger actresses is not going to make viewers care any more about them. Because we already care about Nikki and Jill. We just want to see them in stories that don't degrade or devalue them.

I know this is huge, but it's not nearly on par with Susan Lucci leaving AMC. I think Y&R could survive losing Victor.

I agree though about Nikki and Jill being gone by the end of 2010

Too bad the actors can't band together and maybe they get some changes, but then again Bloom would probably just do a Frons and fire all of them
