Insider — “One Life will be cancelled next year!”

They’re calling it Brian’s Choice! A network insider confirms what daytimeconfidential.com has been reporting for the last few months. One Life To Live was thisclose to being cancelled. Thankfully, The Aisha Tyler Show tested poorly with focus groups, which bought One Life another year. The ABC Daytime President had to make a “Sophie’s Choice,” and he chose to save All My Children by moving it to L.A. “One Life will be cancelled next year barring a ratings miracle. Frons will most likely move Trevor St. John, Kassie DePaiva, Michael Easton, the Kish boys, and maybe Brandon Buddy and Kristen Alderson to become a part of AMC. He will not merge both shows into two half-hour soaps.” Enjoy One Life while you can, people! With World Turns facing cancellation rumours as well, we may be down to five soaps this time next year.

Sorry but I don't believe one word of this. I doubt they ever expected Aisha to do that well, what talk shows in recent years have?

I can see AMC being cancelled just as easily, heck OLTL is doing better than AMC for the most part, but yet OLTL could be the one cancelled? Doubtful

I just can't imagine Y&R without EB, holy crap that would be a huge loss. I'm not really a Victor fan but what would CBS SID do without him, they put him on the cover every other week

can't say we did not see it coming!!! there had already been reports about EB not wanting to take a pay cut, BUT the current contract SHOULD be honored, but evidently others have had to re-sign for less before their current contract ended....

AMC may be a suckfest but it's the suckfest they're going to try to save. You only try to fix a car if you intend to keep driving it.

No they're not, they're putting a "band-aid" on the problem and expecting it to fix itself. If they wanted to fix AMC, they'd have hired a new HW. Pratt's going to suck on the West Coast as much as he did on the East Coast. That's not fixing it.

Y&R would be better off without Victor, although most likely they will just replace him with another one-note sociopath smarm king who is always right and who has women bathing his feet.

I REALLY DO NOT BELIEVE that Frons would ever want Kyle and Fish on AMC. For that reason I'm somewhat dubious of this report. The only way I can see them at AMC is if Pratt does a shocking, hot story where Kool Aid Liza turns them straight. I also don't buy that he would care about saving Kassie de Paiva. She's around 50 -- that's the age which makes Frons curl up into a ball.

Y&R has already destroyed Victor - so they might as well get rid of him.

LOL, but if they want Adam to be the new Victor, they are on some major 'shrooms. Eric Braeden's charisma is unparalleled in daytime, and he is IRREPLACEABLE.

I still believe that Nelson is attempting to mobilize OLTL fans in order to help ensure the outcome he wants, which is OLTL stays. And if he has to make up some sources, and conversations he had with those sources, then he would do that.

I maybe could have believed this item until the part about Frons already having a list of who from OLTL will be moved to AMC, including the "Kish boys".

Is Branco saying they want Adam as the new Victor? Good luck with that. Adam is so cold and one-note. Victor at least used to have major charisma when he was Adam's age.

For REALZ. If we are living in a soap world where IIC would bend over backwards (excuse the expression) to salvage a Kish over a Vorian/Diki, I am not long for this soap world.

If this turns out to be true, I will take my "I told you so" like a man, but I do not believe that OLTL is or was THAT close to cancellation, I don't want to believe it, and I don't believe it.

SFK, I don't have a problem believing Frons wouldn't take Dorian or Viki, he would never pass up the opportunity to get rid of actresses of a certain age. But why would he take a gay couple, especially since Charles Pratt has absolutely no desire to write for gays? And why would they bother to bring Scott Evans all the way to LA when he's only recurring anyway? What would Fish even do there? Knowing Pratt and Frons, they'd have him rape Natalia and then Randi would splinter him to death.

They would pick Rex and Gigi over Blair or Kish. Not to mention Stacy -- Pratt would LOVE her. So I just don't buy that list.

Kyle and Fish moving to AMC is Branco's wet dream. I think that OLTL has another two years at minimum.

I'll believe that EB is leaving Y&R when he is off the show for more than a couple months. He will take his pay cut eventually.
