Is your wheel icon perhaps called either the "gear" icon or the "settings" icon?

Thank you guys for showing how to get the subtitles.  There were a couple of episodes that still don't have CC, but at least there were some conversations I could make out with the weird translations.  It was so funny whenever Josh's name was said it showed as Georgie!  Too funny.

If I had it my way, India would have stayed or came back in 1991 and be the way Roger didn't lose everything.  I wouldn't have had Hart at all (another wasted character shoehorned for no reason).  She wouldn't be a lover, but there would be plenty of flirting to drive Alexandra crazy.

I would have had done the Roger/Jenna story differently.  I would have had them meet the same way, but him digging into her background and discovering her ties to the Spaulding family using her father's idea and him approaching her from that angle. WSPR covering the wedding & him wanting to talk to Blake would be the reason he would sneak in.  I would have focused on the Ed/Holly/Roger/Michelle angle more (with a jealous Blake noticing) and less on Jenna/Roger/Buzz (a character I never liked).

In 95 Roger really didn't have a person who had his back like Alexandra & Alan had in each other. I would have had Tangie working at WSPR as a freelance reporter and him focusing on expanding it to become a media empire separate from Spauling but always finding ways to make their lives hell.  Stories that could take them around the world or let him take more breaks when there was a lag of storyline for him.  Or have him acquiring a ton of real estate & take the Towers back & it become Thorpe Towers.

If Roger focused on just acquiring real estate, I  would have Gilly & Holly stay and become the owners of WSPR.  I would have also had Hamp & Gilly still together.  I loved them as a couple, and poor Hamp had no love interest that I know of after they divorced & his relationship with Billy seemed to be on the wayside to me.

Jordan Clarke has a few scenes starting at 32 minutes.

Thanks for posting this. I totally forgot Cosby even had a mystery show.

I read an article that Jordan also did handyman work as a side business or am I wrong?

Thanks for watching. It came and went as most of his post-Cosby Show projects did until Cosby. I had never paid attention to it but the uploader kindly lists the names of guest stars and I've been surprised at the amount of NY-based soap talent. Another reminder of what we've lost with no NY-based soaps.

Those are great ideas.

The show seemed to lose all interest in Hamp after he and Gilly split up. I can't even remember if they put up a card acknowledging Williams' passing.

No, Hamp didn't, that I can recall. It's too bad, I really liked Hamp. I'm surprised they never recast Kat or tried to give Hamp more story.

I don't think they did. I can't even recall if they said Hamp left town, tbh.

Ugh. 7/1/87 seems to be the infamous Lacey Bauer's debut. Anderson/Manetta are still HW

OMG...someone tell me I'm not crazy and this is Vanessa wearing a Harley dress in 1987.  If I still had my playlist (screw you youtube...) I could find it real easy.image.png

They didn't?!  That's another slap in the face that leaves me cold.  I just don't get it. They should have gotten rid of Dinah's friend and focused more on Hamp trying to move on and building a better relationship with Kat after the whole David thing.

BTW, how Dinah was introduced was good, but they whole Dinah/Roger thing should have ended as a one night stand.  Roger gave her and Vanessa good advice and both ignored it (Dinah being Vanessa's right hand woman at work & told Vanessa not to fire her after the whole kidnapping fiasco).  Plus, all Dinah had to do was go to Henry for money.  That's where they dropped the ball to me.

They thought it made for interesting story, and it did, on paper. But Moniz and Zaz had no chemistry, not even antagonistic and for once you were rooting for Roger as Moniz Dinah was written as such a whiny brat...and then inexplicably a heroine for a few months...I can see both Roger and Dinah acting like they were in one to bug Ross, Van, Blake and Bridget, but when they made Dinah...love him, and immediately had Roger contemplating killing her...(not that anyone could blame him) it was over.

I like Roger and Amanda but, for once I wanted Roger to go totally in on this amoral woman who was his match, and have her be in to use him to get ahead and harm her family, and be honest about it. Amanda thinks he understands the rules but Roger is secretly falling for her...(and Holly gets more then a little secretly jealous, not because she wants to be in relationship with him, but because she misses his attention.)

For me it would have made more sense for a 'Who Killed Dinah' story than the 'Who Shot Roger' one. LOL  She was horrid and of course, she ended up being the victim of Roger since they dropped the triangle with Dinah/Matt/Vanessa (her mom).

I also only liked the first Hart, but then he up and left his horse farm. Made no sense to me.  After him, the second was way too angry & then he just gets killed off after Roger leaves.  Holly treated Roger better and she was the one he violently raped.

That would have been a great story idea with Amanda. I was so over him not having an equal partner who wanted revenge on the Spauling family that kept him on his toes. Only problem with that to me was that Alan had been in jail so long, he didn't do anything to Roger.  IMO, it was Alexandra that he should want revenge/dead.

@P.J. I wish I could help.  What year was that from?

I think Roger was always jealous of Alan, born with a silver spoon in his mouth. But, again, rewriting the whole Brent story, I would have had Brent kill Fletcher not Nadine.  After Alex supports Alan during his trial (he lies to her he had nothing to do with Brent or the embezzlement, it never made sense they had Alex just support him) she finds out from Brent' sister that he was behind the embezzlement  scheme and she pays the sister off (thinking she is there to blackmail, not get more money from an alive Brent) and uses the info to force Alan to throw his support to AM, mend fences with him and quietly pay everything back. That is when he secretly leaves town and has Amanda take his place at Spaulding. But Fletch is investigating and Alex, to protect Alan (always her fall back) and to keep Spaulding out o fit, frames Roger by planting evidence in his office to throw Fletch off. Fletcher is more then happy to believe it as he is jelly over Rog/Holly and keeps on the Brent trail leading to him discovering Brent, not Nadine, and he getting killed for it. Brent then plants the evidence on Roger, know everyone will believe it, etc.  Alex has misgivings...(she feels she set Fletch up to die) and Alan talks her into keeping quiet after he secretly destroys the evidence. That would give Roger more than enough to get back at both Spaulding's. As an added bonus I would have Amanda lie and say she was with Roger when Fletch was being killed, just so he would be beholden to her.

Eventually Alan disowns Amanda because of this and her wayward ways (I would NOT make her a Malibu madame, but there is more then enough other stories to make Alan turn) even despite all of Alan's bad history (cause he is a man, but he cannot forgive his daughter, in his mind.) Amanda joins forces with Roger to bring the Spaulding siblings down once and for all.

I think it would have been more in character for Amanda to have been conned out of her money by a con artist man that happened to own an escort service.. then for her to have owned and happily run an escort service with glee.   Amanda could have been embarrassed to have Alan and the rest of the Spauldings find out that she hadn't really changed and was still gullible like she had been back in the late 70s/early 80s.

And I don't think the Amanda/Ross/Blake thing was a horrible idea.. but the execution was all wrong.  Blake still could have been jealous of Amanda... but needlessly so.. and that jealously causing Ross and Amanda to reconnect as a result.

Easy. Literally type in the address bar or search bar, etc.

The Internet Archive

And, you'll get a page similar to this:

Then, in the middle, the word search, to the right of the graphic icon of a building with columns, type Guiding Light US soap opera clips (or full episodes instead of clips). And, if you have ANY trouble come back & ask!

Thank you very much for all your help, @Contessa Donatella.

In addition to the Archive, you should know about the Vault provided by the amazing @ChickenNuggetz92. Just about everything from Blake Marler should be there, and often in better quality from a divine angel. Blake Marler's videos were used to fill in some gaps. Thank you also to the angel currently keeping up with uploading Spauldingfield's episodes. Anyone can download things from YouTube and upload there per instructions provided in the link, so please, anyone, when you see something new on Youtube, please help to save it. I work to keep it organized, so I do recommend keeping that dpi number that Spauldingfield uses because I notice people comment on the dates and then they may get changed but that number verified which video it is from the collection. In a couple of cases I found that we have two different episodes with the same dates in the vault so I will keep both, but it does get messy and there's no daily recaps for the 70s through early 90s so if anyone has corrections to dates, you can always ping me. One person was comparing them to the German episodes on YouTube and giving me the German #, and I was able to date the episodes from that. Thank you to all angels who assist and upload. 😇

Thank you very much @BoldRestless for this information. I really appreciate it.
