Lucy? Sonia Satra? I always hated her. I never knew anyone who didn't hate her.

Then you werent around on the forums when GL was pushing them as a supposed super couple..the fans were referring to them as LAM and we referred to them as LAME. I remember people would be posting, "Ohhh, there is a five minute love scene with LAM." which I thought was so weird, who tunes into a show to just watch their favorites in a five minute fake love scene? Oh weel

I thought Robert Bogue was great. I don't understand why no other soap has picked him up.

I think probably that sweet young thing the Marah actress he married is keeping him close at home...she knows full well he can't keep it in his pants!

I like Bogue, and thought he was sexy...but yea, I just thought he was another character, which he could have been. I thought he worked well with Gina but they paired them too late. In a far fetched world, I could see him as a recast of Rick Bauer...wholesome, with a wry sense of humor (and kinda sorta resembles Simon) but not mugging or a simp like MOL played him.

Thankfully I missed all of that! I would've hated every minute of it.

As for the rest, I LOVED Bogue!!! He was incredible. And your idea of pairing him with GinaT's Dinah, whoa!!! what a great idea. Too bad we'll never see it come to any kind of fruition. Bah Humbug.

I thought Bogue had a very unique, intense energy that could be both easygoing or psycho (probably why he plays the main villain in Grand Theft Auto 5). I just dug him.

Your're right, he can play an easygoing guy or someone more instense..that is probably why I think he would have made a good Rick..a nice sweet guy but has some of his dad's issues. And of course his appearance as the gay boxer in Oz..and his quote on what he likes do and how he does it well... LOL..and they think the dialouge on soaps is bad..but at least that was hot.

You mean Marina, Mandy Bruno. Who I didn't really like either.

i can tell you about roger thorpe. as played by michael zaslow — one of the best soap actors ever — viewers could see all of roger’s internal conflicts and emotional layers

when roger came on guiding light in 1971, it was not as a villain. he was a user, a manipulator, and had a troubled relationship with father. he wan’t running someone off the road, potentially killing someone, his first week on the show. he grew into his dark side

Roger was the OG and GOAT of CBS soap opera villains and we should give MZ his flowers for that. Roger ran so JR and Victor could walk.

I would put Roger neck and neck with John Dixon....and that's definitely rarified air.

When I think of CBS daytime soap opera villains, my top four in date order are MZ Roger, CB Alan, James Stenbeck, Victor Newman.

I'd leave off Victor (because, I've never considered him a villain, per se) and place John Dixon/Larry Bryggman just before Chris Bernau's Alan.

@Contessa Donatella  yes, I liked Aubrey Dollar. This was definitely a case of the recast not working for me.

Wait---villains or actors? I mean, God Bless Eric Braeden, but he wouldn't make my actor's list.

What makes John, Alan, or Roger superior to me is because viewers were allowed to have their own opinion about these men. Victor and JR were both too much of show pets.

I just flat out consider Zas, Bryggman, Bernau and Herrera better actors.

Good point!

For years, I've contended that a major reason why Y&R remains #1, especially among African-Americans, is because of the appeal of Victor Newman as a self-made, take-charge billionaire who says and does exactly what he wants and who doesn't give a [!@#$%^&*] what you think about it.  (Which might also explain why a certain individual with a REALLY bad comb-over keeps getting elected into office, lol).
