I didn't think so.  Then again, I think I'm one of the few here who enjoyed GL throughout the '80's (with Johnny Bauer's cancer saga being the exception, lol).

As I've said in the past, my enjoyment of all things GL doesn't really end until Nancy Curlee leaves as HW.  For me, that's when GL slowly begins disintegrating.  It rallies somewhat during the first half of James Harmon Brown and Barbara Esensten's run as HW, but by 2000 or so, I'm pretty much ready to call it a show.

I was just coming back to say that the show just answered my question haha - A-M said he's almost reaching 30 with no kids.  I was even more surprised to hear he's not 30 yet, but running an entire company.  Granted, it's a family business but still, that's a stretch haha.  I assumed he was mid-30s.  Sad to hear he never has children!

LOL that's awesome.  I'm a guy and all my friends either like Star Trek and sports or like soap operas and housewives, I just can't find a good mix of both

Out to dinner, so will have to pick back up on GL tomorrow!   I'm up to March 31st, 1995 and the preemptions seem to have stopped, thankfully!  Ready for April!

ON OCCASION? Oh, honey....granted it was more after Reva's resurrection, but she never met a chunk of scenery she wouldn't chew.

I swear, sometimes it was like Jay was ghostwriting Fletch's attempts at romance. 'Cause I can't recall any other character getting a crack at so many leading ladies. Although honestly, as much as I hate Fletch/Van, her snapping on him is one of my favorite Van moments EVER.

I may be wrong, but I thought Mo's crush on Fletch started before Holly's return. Something about them working together on a radio show?

Alan-Michael was born onscreen in 1981 and was SORASed in 1987 to I think 17 or 18, so he would be 25 or 26 in 1995.

Going by the ages of the Alan-Michael actors in the years they were cast, Carl Tye Evans was 19 in 1987 and Rick Hearst was 25 in 1990.

Well, on GL, just being a Spaulding entitled you to head the business. Phillip runs it with about a semester's worth of college. A-M had a slightly harder road, Alex had picked Vanessa as president before she left in '92. Jenna (with Roger's help) takes Spaulding away from Vanessa and A-M (mostly thanks to A-M losing an important copy of a contract) in '93. When Spaulding's returned, A-M must get the presidency. As Vanessa was running Lewis Oil.

I didn't mind Fletcher with Alex. I thought Jay and Beverlee worked well together. My main complaint about the pairing is how much focus went to Fletch wanting to keep Alex in line. This was even more of an issue with Marj's Alex. Still, I liked them well enough to where I was glad Alex left Springfield with him.

It annoyed me when Beverlee was in the role that no one was a true ride-or-die for Alex (Marj's Alex was so OTT I couldn't be surprised). These days on soaps, you have characters like Phyllis on Y&R who could burn down an orphanage and still have Genoa City holding a rally for her.

The pairing with Vanessa never made sense beyond the show needing to stall until they got Billy and Vanessa back together. The pairing with Holly made sense as a fling but not a permanent relationship.

They really should've bitten the bullet and brought in someone new for Vanessa. At the time, Fletch was really the only available male on the show. Billy wouldn't have been threatened by Ross, even though I would've loved a true Ross/Vanessa/Billy triangle. I can't even think of anyone GL could've brought back to be an also-ran. Justin might've made sense, if they hadn't recasted so badly.

As P.J. said, Alan-Michael did think that Eleni was pregnant with his child. The child, Marina, was later aged and in a major case of ick factor, Alan-Michael and Marina hooked up around 2006-07. What were Wheeler and Kreizman thinking with such trash?

And getting back to another post. Eve Guthrie was pregnant in 1995? I wasn't watching regularly at that point and didn't realize she was pregnant.
