I think she came on to be AN ACTOR, she knows her own ethnic background, she does not need posters on a MB to say she is not "black" enough, and she knows her character. Lily is not suppose to be Dru 2.0, and who would want her to be, she is her own character.

Dru has been a central character (definitely one of my favorites) on Y&R for so many years I don't think anyone is arguing that she isn't needed. The question is, do they need her enough to put up with VR's antics. Perhaps VR is wholly justified in her complaints, but it doesn't change the fact that her behavior makes it appear that SHE is the one who causes the trouble. Like many people, I love that she's so outspoken, but in the long run I don't think she helps herself. If anybody thinks she's going to force tptb at Y&R to bow to her will, they're naive.

I think they do, they just don't know it. I completely agree that she isn't helping herself with her comments, but Hollywood is full of Divas and Divos. I simply don't care if she is difficult, I want Dru on my screen. Now if there is a lot more to the stories and her behavior is really OTT by Hollywood standards that's another story. However barring some really, seriously bad behavior I think the rest of the cast needs to suck it up.

It's very clear that Y&R needs it's AA audience. Then you have those of us who are white, but still want to see some diversity. Y&R is seriously letting us all down, but at least OLTL has picked up the ball. I'm enjoying it so much more since Rachel and the Evan's family showed up.

I can't believe CK said she doesn't want black family time. That seems more outrageous than anything Victoria or Peter Bergman have said.

Personally, I'd much rather Dru's daughter be more like her but CK isn't that good of an actress to bring the fiery attitude to the role that it would require of her.

We all know they don't want to write for Devon and when they do it's beyond horrible. It's beyond ridiculous that her family isn't by her side in all of this or at least their absence being explained.

Just as I said in the OLTL thread this week, they are doing it all so much better than Y&R right now, I just wish they'd stop losing viewers and pick up the #1 spot. OLTL is the Queen/King of diversity!

CK don't know any but to be with white male characters. & she isn't black enough.

Can't blame CK for this whether or not she wants black family time if TPTB wanted to give black family time they would have they seem to: 1) don't know how to properly write for that (not sure why if they are professional writers and writing AMERICAN story dramatic beats) 2) not that interested in writing for the family. The truth is TPTB don't get NEIL. I came in as a solid viewer during the LML tenor and she didnn't get Neil either, as a tter of fact she didn't get DRU but she at least had her own ideas of who they were. For as long as MAB and HS has been handling the reins, I just feel they havn't a clue who Neil is or even care to buy an idea. That in itself has nothing to do with CK. CK would have found herself in the same boat if LAME didn't take off
