JT, Victoria, and Colleen, three characters that seem to serve little to no purpose on this show anymore. I don;t even recognize any of these "characters."

True, all three are extremely unrecognizable.

I think it's open-season for character assassination on this show if you have a vagina.

Pretty much, though, even the men on this show are being written like crap these days too.

But it's definitely worse with the women.

Why is Y&R allowed to get this bad? LML then this? C'mon... is there nobody really looking out for the interest of Daytime's last true investment? (except for B&B?)

It seems like everyone is keen on destroying daytime for good.

All current soap opera headwriters (maybe there's an exception there) are doing a damn fine job at driving away what's little left of the audience.

Nobody sees daytime as viable or is willing to invest in it anymore. Maybe the era is just done like dinner. Maybe it's similar to the whole "Baby-boomer phenomenon", when they're all gone, who will watch the soaps?

I think this is generation endgame!

So sad to admit it, but I'm with you on this one.

Unless we just hit the reset button and re-start soaps for a new generation... I think pretty well every aspect of daytime in its current incarnation is just entirely tired.

I want Colleen to do something with her Art degree, I would never want to work with people that hate me or that I hate, so why would she want to work with Victor? :(

This mini-storyline about the boardseat doesn't even seem to be about "Colleen." It's more Jack and now Billy manipulating the situation, brainwashing Colleen, and using her to get back at Victor. Colleen is just a front, and since they don't write for the character anyway, they don't want to give her any type of personality. Tammin is miscast IMO, but the writing fails her more than anything else.

We're now to believe that this boardseat is so important to Colleen, when it used to be art history, and that was only a few years ago. Is Colleen even still studying art history? They've neglected this character for so long, still use her pretty scarcely, and like most other characters, she lacks anything resembling a personality.

Not to mention, her own aunt Ashley doesn't even seem to know who she is and what she's up to these days.

Forgetting that they delayed this mini-story because of Tammin's film schedule a few times and I perceive Tammin to be a crap actress and very miscast, this story was destined to fail, IMO.

Don't remind TIIC that Colleen is an art major or she'll be added to Victoria and Jana's hair brained art world.

Man, Y&Rworldturner, your summaries are miles ahead better tham CBS.com's. I know what to watch and skip all-together to avoid throwing my shoe at the tv from these. Much appreciated dude.

LOL! Thanks. :)

Again, I urge people to watch and judge for themselves, they might like this current crapfest that I detest but watch because I really do love it and want it to be better.

But when has Jill ever been a good mother? Realizing that Cane isn't her real son should make her realize that she should have been a better mother to Billy. I mean, Jill never was mother of the year.

I think she knows she wasn't a great mother to Billy, goodness knows he told her this enough when David Tom was in the role, but there's nothing she can do about that now. Her supporting Cane doesn't make her love Billy any less. Billy just needs everyone to only care about him, yet at the same time, he needs people like Jill to remember that they are why he's not some great person with a happy life. He wants it both ways. That's one of the reasons he seems to focus more on that element on his life than on the Abbotts, who did try to be there for him and whom he was much closer to when he was younger. He doesn't care about his family until he can come in and grimace on their behalf, long after it would have done them any good. I think Billy should worry more about being a good father to his own daughter.

I'm so tired of the Abbotts these days. I never needed to see a return to the big breakfasts, but the long periods of absolutely no interest in each other (like everyone and Ashley) or the sudden interest only when it suits their goals (like Billy with this board seat) annoy me even more.

This doesn't even feel like Billy to me anymore, the character seems so much different than the guy David Tom played. It's not Miller's fault, the writing is really failing this character.

It doesn't help that he's become overexposed at the expense of others too.
