I don't know. McVicar looked to me like he was actually aging naturally (except for the fact that he once, for a day, had grey-white hair). What do I know?

JMW. For that matter, JMW, DTB (whom I used to like), Hty, and RM have all succeeded in reaching my threshold. I am able to enjoy B&B without any of them. Seriously, as far as I can tell, they have all been fired from B&B. When it comes to that foursome, my FF-button serves as writer/producer/director/editor. I skip them, and the commercials attached to them. I enjoy the show sooooooooooooooooo much more that way, and I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

Mark you are so right, Ridge and Taylor's family is a disaster.

PS: LAD looks stunning. When Nick leaves town with Bridget and Jack (after Ridge and Taylor's wedding and their decision to move to Europe with their kids and run Forrester International), she will need a young daughter/niece. A young version of Macy who should be paired with Rick after they recast with Eric Winter.

We'll agree to disagree :). Honestly, I'm sort of an outlier, because I didn't like her from the first moment, and my estimation has only gone down.

But as much as I'm enjoying the rise of Spectra and Whip, I found today's episode too over-the-top. Still, it was fun compare to downer that is Tridge, Bridge, and Stephanie meddling in all of it.

Does Whip have his eye on the Cougar??

Yup, Whip has his eye on the Cougar so a Owen/Jackie/Whip TRI is coming. Whose down for Whickie? I'm just glad Whip is not for Brooke this time. Keep him away from the black hole that is Bridge/Tridge.

Yeah I agree...except that Brooke was actually FUN with him. I loved how she pulled the wool over his eyes for a minute.

Ric Hearst seems to be bringing the fun to the set!

Oh I agree for that brief moment she was able to laugh and have some fun. Then she had to go pick up the damn Ridge picture and sob again.

And yup Hearst is bringing fun and energy.

I don't know, but she just looks different than she did when she started. PJ mentioned plastic and that might be part of it but something else just seems off.

And shouldn't Brooke have known it wasn't Ridge when the text said, "That picture means nothing to me now"? Ridge has never had pictures with Brooke that mean nothing to him, which is why he always used to burn them up before rebound proposing to Taylor.

You know what would be refreshing? Characters that didn't decide to get married to someone else twenty-four hours after dumping "the love of their life".

It happens on every friggin' show now.

I can't wait for little Hope and RJ to start punking Taylor in an effort to "reunite their family" because Ridge represents the stability she deserves. And of course, the fact that they're actually children.

I can't even bother to FF any more. I just don't watch. This show is so absurd I can't stomach it. I said I would tune in for BRidget (and heck, Felicia and Thorne days) but the writers have given me no reason to tune in.

FTR, Brooke's never broken up ANY of Stephanie's marriages. :P Eric left Steph before getting together with Brooke. He did leave Steph for Beth Logan.

Steffy has some nerve telling Brooke to stay away from Ridge bc all that relationship does is hurt him, yet she wont end things with her and Rick even though that relationship hurts Ridge as well

Jacqui Mac really fucked up her face.

Girlfriend, you're not even 21 yet. You have your whole life ahead of you. You'll need your forehead in Hollywood when you're too old to play the PYT and shake the fake tits we all know you'll be forced into getting to nab other TV and movie roles.

Stop using botox!

And Birgit should be shot for allowing anyone to step foot out of wardrobe wearing the hideous shirt and skirt Steffy was wearing. Is this B&B, a show about affluent white people who work in Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive friendly fashion or is this The Torkildsens? That top Steffy was wearing Friday just reeks of government cheese. If you're gonna shop at Wal-Mart/Target/K-Mart at least pick out something that's not so blatantly, obviously tacky.

Am I the only one who remembers, one of the last times Stephanie Sr. broke up Ridge and Brooke (before she arranged to have Brooke raped), she caused Ridge to have a heart attack? That caused Ronn Moss to infamously croak out...as he was collapsing..."you've broken my heart".

I realize we're supposed to forget this...but why isn't Stephanie Sr. worried about seriously damaging Ridge with her shenanigans?

Stephanie has only ever loved her children when it costs her nothing to do so. She's thisclose to getting rid of Brooke (another feeble lie in her mind that she clings to no matter how many times she tells it). If Ridge is unhappy or has a heart attack, she'll deal with it THEN, maybe... it just depends. She'll sacrifice Ridge when she has to, she'll control him when it suits her. It's always about Stephanie... always.

She can GO... NOW... do not pass go, do not collect $200.00. I'm at the point where missing Flannery is not worth keeping Stephanie on screen. Steph is no longer indispensible. Stephanie and her one note act can hit the road.

I guess this the wrong week, but I'm too lazy to start a new thread.

I was a little surprised that she was encouraging Steffy and Thomas to block Brooke's emails.

Also, while I love waxing nostalgic about Sally Spectra as much as the next guy, I don't know why she got mentioned soooooooooo much today. It is too ham handed if they're trying to tell us that "Sally approves" of this new Jackie M regime...like the spirit of Sally is back. I'm enjoying the regime...but this is not "return of Spectra". It is something different. I also find it unseemly that they keep trotting out the specter (sorry) of this woman we all loved. It was cute to think of her on an endless cruise...but I'd rather they killed her off and allowed us all to mourn her...with some flashbacks.

    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
    • Luna parachutes herself into Llanview at the end of September 15th 1991.
    • That lengthy flashback does make me wonder if she threw out a lot, but I agree it may have been too easy an urban legend. Would these have been her very first episodes? I imagine you could feel the big difference when Bobbie arrived, alongside the Quartermaines filing in, the return of Heather, and Lesley/Rick/Monica/Alan heating up. It does remind me that there must have been some dud moments in the 60-minute format we just don't see because little of the period is available in full.  I wonder how much longer the Dantes lasted under Marland.  David Hamilton is so disgusting. I appreciate the show making him disgust as some shows when they have stories about older men or women manipulating teens aren't as honest.  I can't see this Rick being friends with him. Chris Robinson's Rick, on the other hand, I could believe.
